@Christo17108355 In his life he has only ever not slept in my bed maybe a few days. When I got him as a kitten I instantly realized he was going to be a Velcro boy forever.
@ThoseComics4561@BeatzCrusader This is where the removal of excess credentials is perhaps a viable or even wise decision to take in order to move past initial screening. I would not suggest removing excess credentials if one did not have excess to remove. In my case I very much can and do.
@ThoseComics4561@BeatzCrusader For my level of experience and prior work the compensation one would seek on the open market in the U.S. is commonly about a $220K to $300K base salary. Now can you see where this gets difficult? However, I am willing to take far less in an effort to secure initial conversations.
@ZeroZero_Python The market is fundamentally broken, and I think it is wise to remember that it should not work this way. My decade-plus of experience in years prior would have resulted in a quick recovery after a layoff; now it does not. I feel deeply for those starting out in life.
@ZeroZero_Python Unfortunately, with zero experience or even formal education, the chances for gainful employment are not there. The pool of people needing work simply due to layoffs alone is oversaturated with highly skilled workers with years of experience.
@Froldus1 If that isn’t baseline common sense at this point in time, then I simply cannot fathom the mental landscape of said individual. Every resume, cover letter, and even CV should be tailored to fit the outlined expectations; otherwise, you genuinely are just wasting time.
@BloofBloofBloof That unfortunately always has been the standard practice. What isn’t is the current nature of the market amongst various new factors that have been introduced, only heightening the complexity, time to hire, and general desire to lobotomize oneself in the job application process.
@RedIOmega For real, I was simply venting my less than positive thoughts from the mind prison to the outside world for once.
At least I can commiserate with the general populace right now.
@ThoseComics4561@BeatzCrusader I have more than one degree; one would not be so dense as to theorize in this market that someone without a degree would fare better than one with. My musings here are in reference to contemplating removing the additional ones for assisting initial screening purposes via ATS.
@BeatzCrusader Because the inherent perception will be that I am unwilling to accept certain pay bands due to my educational and certification holdings. Even though my former position before the layoff was a senior level one I would be willing to accept less in this market.
