“Do you think Cillian would try and hurt Garrick?’
she asks softly hoping that was not the case. She didn’t know Cillian as well as Imogen but she knew he was unpredictable at times.
“Or is this fear about Garrick getting hurt in general?! I don’t think anything will happen ~
“Gen, look at me. Hey.” She squeezed her hand.
“Nothing is going to happen to him okay. I won’t let it happen. Your brother cares enough that he won’t let it happen if you truly love him.”
She says softly, looking at her friend.
Her eyes widened in horror, and she quickly shook her head. "I don't want him to!"
Fear gripped her chest. Everyone she let in died, and she didn't want to lose Garrick. If she had to stuff down her feelings, she would.
Quinn would always be there for Imogen. No matter what it was. — whatever it is that she is holding in.
Sighing after she was told. Squeezing her hand in a comforting manner.
“You’re not. It’s going to be okay. Garrick is an idiot but maybe he will come around.”
She smiles
Her heart shattered at how patient—how understanding—Quinn was being.
She bit her bottom lip, looking down at their hands for a moment. Finally, she let out a sigh. "I'm fucked, Quinn. I'm in love with Garrick. I have been for years, and he's a stupid asshole."
She took her hands in hers and he looks Imogen in the eyes. More concern filling them.
“I can’t tell somethings wrong. You’re my best friend. We have been for years now.
I won’t pry— but you can talk to me.”
How could she be honest with her best friend when she could hardly be honest with herself?
She paused. "I don't want to admit it because then it makes it even more real..."
Quinn had let out a very light sigh. Still mildly annoyed at herself for sneaking up on her. — followed by a smile towards the female.
“S’mores in cookies? I am sure they will be delicious and amazing.
I know all the injured will really appreciate this.”
When she had finally finished mixing the ingredients, she wiped her hands against her smock.
‘Some s’mores chocolate chip cookies. They used to be my grandmother’s famous recipe,’ she signed, turning her full attention to Quinn. ‘Each cookie has half a s’more tucked inside.’
~ remembering what she mentioned earlier.
It was kind of her to make these for others.
“Love that about you. Kindness does go a long way — what are you baking?”
She asks softly
Quinn frowns deeply at the fact that she gets surprised a lot. He tried hard not to startle her
“I’m sorry. — that must get old after awhile. Shifting her attention from Jesinia to the mixing bowl. She wasn’t sure what was in there until she watched what the other was doing
~
Ingredients together. There was something comforting about the simplicity of it all, a small act of kindness amid the chaos and brutality of their lives at Basgiath.
Quinn frowns and signs ‘I’m so sorry to scare you.— I didn’t want to intrude or sneak up on you.
What are you making?”
She signs again while walking to her.
