Benin City has officially entered the global tourism chat as the new Ramat Park flyover is ready and already welcoming tourists. Looking at this picture, you may wonder if the flyover is for cars or people. For now, it is serving people.

Before "govno wey dey enter gutter," there was no flyover in Benin worthy of this visit. I visited Benin City quite often back in the day, spending time with mates around Akpakpava and other areas.

Young people who have never seen a flyover before now troop out to snap pictures, make videos and show off this latest tourist attraction in their state.

Anambra has Solution Fun City, Lagos has multiple parks and amusement centers, and Edo has the Ramat Park flyover.

If you have not visited, please dress up and go there now. Snap your picture while the flyover is still fresh. Before Asaba and Sapele people start visiting.

Congratulations to my Benin City people, I will try and visit this tourist location. You have joined the likes of London Bridge, Eiffel Tower, Ekwulobia Flyover and other locations around the world.

Pls take us through if the Court restraining Order came before or after the conclusion of the National Congress? Besides, which clause in the Party's Constitution empowers the State Executive Committee to conduct State Congresses?

It seems most of you are still not clear as to what led to the Court of Appeal ruling on ADC yesterday.

To put you in a better perspective of understanding, it is important to explain it properly.

When the David Mark-led ADC Caretaker Executive came on board.

Just like every other political party preparing for its national convention, it rolled out a timetable of activities.

The process was supposed to begin with the election of State Executives through state congresses.

However, the David Mark Caretaker Executive did not duly carry along the existing State Chairmen across the country.

As a result, a man called Don Norman Obinna, who was the State Chairman of ADC in Abia State, alongside six others acting on behalf of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) State Chairmen and State Executive Committees (SECs), approached the court.

What was their argument?

They argued that their four-year constitutional tenures were still valid and subsisting.

They also argued that the David Mark-led National Caretaker Leadership had bypassed the existing State Executive Committees and instead constituted separate committees to organize and conduct fresh state congresses.

Before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, they maintained that under Article 28 of the ADC Constitution, the power and responsibility to organize and conduct state congresses rest squarely with the elected State Executive Committees, not the national leadership.

They further argued that the scheduled April 2026 state congresses, if conducted under the supervision of the David Mark-led Caretaker Leadership, would amount to a gross violation of both the party's Constitution and Section 223 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which guarantees periodic democratic elections for party leadership.

After listening to their arguments, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik issued an injunctive order restraining the David Mark-led Caretaker Leadership from proceeding with the planned state congresses until the issue of tenure was determined by the court.

But the David Mark-led Executives had already resolved to proceed with the exercise.

So they ignored the restraining order, went ahead with the state congresses, and eventually conducted the party's national convention.

That singular decision became the foundation of yesterday's Court of Appeal judgment.

In a split 2-1 majority decision, the Court of Appeal affirmed the earlier ruling of the Federal High Court, which invalidated the state congresses conducted by the Senator David Mark-led National Caretaker Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The court held that the actions of the David Mark-led Caretaker Leadership were carried out in violation of a subsisting court order and exceeded the authority vested in a caretaker committee.

According to the court, those actions infringed on the constitutional rights and powers of the duly elected State Executive Committees (SECs).

That was what happened.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Everytime, I used to hear the phrase " the North will remember".

Elrufai has been in incarceration and only few voices are speaking up for him from the North.

Even his bail conditions, no northern elite has stopped forward to help him perfect it.

Or is the North waiting for 2027 election to come before they can remember?

Let's see how the North remembers Elrufai and how he has been humiliated so far by Tinubu.

The next election will finally show if Tinubu has demystified the North and conquered its hegemony in Nigeria politics or not.

President Tinubu ordered a probe into the issue of the fake agency, and the first thing the Nigerian Police did was to go and arrest the father of Adeyemi Matthew.

The Nigerian Police didn't see the Head of Service who approved 314 staff for a purported fake agency.

They didn't see the SSG who approved office space at the Federal Secretariat for a purported fake agency.

They didn't think of starting with the Chief of Staff to the President, who has been consistently fingered over allegations of collecting bribes to float the agency.

They didn't start with the National Assembly, which dedicated two whole pages (50 and 51) of the national budget just to allocate a whopping amount to a non-existent agency.

Instead, they travelled all the way to arrest the father of the man at the centre of the controversy.

And you say something tangible will come out of this probe?

At this point, it's easier for the head of a cow to pass through the eye of a needle than for the whole truth behind this agency scam to be unfolded.

The more this matter progresses, the more it raises serious questions instead of providing answers.

The people Nigerians expect to be questioned are nowhere in sight, while attention keeps shifting elsewhere.

It's what it is.
