57 yr old Chai Vang, the man who was sentenced to six life sentences for the 2004 “Tree Stand Killings,” has died.

It was the Saturday before Thanksgiving 2004 when a large hunting party of family and close friends came under attack by a trespasser on private property. Chai Vang killed six people and wounded w others. A group of hunters approached Vang for trespassing on private hunting grounds. Vang tried the sefl defense plea , as he stated the hunters were using racial slurs and trying to kill him.

He used a scoped SKS 7.62×39mm from 40 yards out.

He died Wednesday in the Oshkosh Correctional Facility.
