@JacksonBarlow7 @_fat_ugly_rat_ @nikicaga Selection bias. Only 8% of Maryland students take the ACT, most likely high achievers.

North Dakota and Mississippi have higher SAT scores than Maryland because most students take ACT only.

Susumu Yokota - Sakura (1999)

Japanese ambient artist. Guess I'm on a kick, but Japan did really have it figured out in the 90's.

Intend to listen to one new (to me) album each week this year. Aiming to do mostly pre-1995 or so since I have more gaps there.

Fishmans - LONG SEASON (1996)

Japanese band that was rediscovered by Rate Your Music and other music forums. Pretty nice for an album with one single 40 minute dream-pop track.

Idea: Mennonite/ Amish style community but computers are allowed, they're just all running on Windows 95.

@callmeshitto Club lacrosse was the only time I really had fun as goalie. If I was bored I'd just run around with the ball a little more. We didn't even have a coach to get mad at me and sometimes it worked out.

@balajis You're right. I'm cancelling my trip to Zion National Park to stare at this grotesque hand on the computer.

Soon health insurance will be obsolete and we will instead be waiting in long lines before famous content creators who determine if our conditions are interesting enough that paying our medical bills will drive engagement.

@eeberquist Your honor, I’m just a simple country AI lawyer from a backwoods sever, but not a single print from any of my client’s 17 fingers was found at the crime scene.

@jjdotbiz His films just were so representative of what I thought movies really *were* as a kid that it took me a while to really appreciate them for their craft and not just being "a pretty good film!"

Like a fish recognizing they're in water.
