What did Daniel do when he received bad news? News that threatened his life?
He went back to his room. Opened the windows. And prayed and THANKED GOD as he had before. He didn't even beg God for his own safety. Now THAT is prayer.
We MUST trust God . . . and must give Him room to work while acknowledging that He WILL work. Worry and doubt do nothing for either of us!
Daniel 6:23 "No kind of harm was found on [Daniel], because he had trusted in his God."
Nebuchadnezzar only received the throne again when he raised his eyes to heaven and acknowledge the true Ruler of the world; when he humbled himself, God raised him up.
Greatness isn't achieved—it's given.
I don't think we can ever choose lions in our own power. We can't choose to tell the truth, to tithe, or to love others more than ourselves. It's a previous resolving (Dan 1:8) to obey God and love Him no matter what, even though He slay us (Job 13:15).
Betraying Jesus costs nothing and gets you nothing. Following Jesus costs everything . . . and gives you everything, and more. #ohbelovedone#youarebeloved#countthecost
