Do you know what is it be a politician, scratch that, a *person* in Nigeria that isn't hardened to the destitution around you? The fact this man has enough empathy for the plight of the everyday Nigerian to shed hot tears, speaks volumes. @PeterObi my President, a leader w/ HEART
These structures of criminality have been there for over 60 years.
They are still as strong as ever, but you took down many of them in nine months. Yet, you wan relax? How?
You saw full scale rigging and thievery, yet you are whining and crying. Instead of fighting back hard, you dey play!
Did you think they were going to hand over power to you just like that?
The more you tell Nigerians to be calm and peaceful, the more you allow these bad elements to perfect their instruments of abuse and illegality. I will not call for violence, but democracy belongs to those who can practice it; good governance, to those who can demand it. (DATTI)
Puzzling how it's clear that the election results are being fabricated/doctored, yet @inecnigeria are still proceeding with the farse of announcing results.
If the data is flawed, halt the process. What's this suspension of reality where we're supposed to ooh n aah at fake info?!
There's going to be conversation on voter apathy in the coming weeks, but I think that's going to be hard to measure if we don't get a handle on the voters register. I don't think we can trust it, and a good, honest census or our adult population will make the gaps obvious.
@toluogunlesi The fact that you're tweeting as if this election isn't a complete farce with entirely made up numbers is astonishing to me. Like, surely you're more intelligent than this?!
I've covered elections in Nigeria since 2015 and I've lived in the country for 7 years now. Yesterday, I felt so proud of Nigerians, the community spirit, the determination to vote, some even defied the threat of violence. Nigeria can and will be an important global player.
I promised myself after endsars to never get my hopes up about Nigeria. But even when you think you’ve compartmentalised and you’re not hopeful, there’s always a place in your heart that unconsciously dreams, hopes and prays. You can’t turn it off.
The thorough digitisation of the electoral process will be a game changer. Why should outcomes remain at the mercy of ballot papers that can be so easily destroyed?! Infuriating #NigeriaDecides
So proud of you, Val! You've been at the helm of Labour's presidential bid. For you and the extended OBIdient team, your names will be etched on the right side of history 🙌🏾
"His Excellency Peter Obi is the gold standard for Nigerian politicians. This is not the time for grandstanding or sitting on the fence; this is the time to make our voices heard clearly through the ballot," Valentine Ozigbo declares. #VoteLabourParty
The INEC officers finally arrived. My husband and I have just voted. The turnout is unbelievable, the largest I have ever seen in all the years I have voted in the village. Young and very old all are here.
