BLACK ICE LEAGUE // FILE 001
THE CLERK
You’re supposed to hate this guy.
He never takes a hit.
Never loses a tooth.
Never bleeds on the ice.
He sits upstairs and decides what all of that was worth.
Your contract.
Your debt.
Your trade.
Your future.
Win the game if you want.
The Clerk keeps the ledger.

Turns out the mysterious “Deeper Girl” is extremely aggressive and has a taste for flashy attacks. 🔥
She’s being designed by our most junior game designer, who likes to tune enemies to the most brutal difficulty.
Looking forward to facing her? 💔
@SuperSisi@DrClownPhD I don’t know your full history, so I can’t speak to everything that’s happened. I can only say I checked it myself and saw the problem too. Maybe if enough people actually notice and say something, somebody eventually has to look at it.
Same. I won’t release my game unless it feels like something I’d actually play myself. Hopefully overscope doesn’t eat that $300. But it looks like he understands concepts I didn’t learn until I got into Unreal Engine. Starting there really shows you how quickly some other programs hit their limits.
4 weeks ago, this AI-built fishing game barely existed
Now it has a fully 3D harbor, dynamic water, day/night cycles, custom UI and an increasingly polished world
Built mostly with Claude Code + Godot
3D models made through Blender MCP and Tripo 3D
Images generated with ChatGPT
Total cost so far: ~$300
One person + AI is slowly turning this into an actual game
@JoshuasRetropit You’re not wrong. Builders like myself are already talking about releasing new indie games for older consoles. Maybe that’s part of the future: stop waiting for the old hardware to die and start building for it again.
That’s my point. I got my Genesis for around $60 when an SNES was basically out of reach for me. Then came Road Rash, NBA Jam, NHL ’94... and around ’96, Sega Channel.
Sega Channel was absolutely insane. A rotating library of games coming straight through the cable line into your Genesis in the 90s. I literally stopped going to school for weeks because I was playing it so much, until I finally got caught. 😂
Genesis wasn’t the consolation prize. For what it cost me, it was one of the best systems ever made.
@NitorAetheris Now combine that with researchers growing brain organoids and connecting biological neural tissue to computers… and you just sent my imagination somewhere very dark. I’ll sleep great now. Not.
@IndieGameJoe The second the machine gets you defending your mission to people who never cared about it, it’s already stealing your time. Stay with your vision.
The reason Naughty Dog games look so ahead of their time is because of 2 specific reasons.
1. Their tools are ahead of everyone else so it allows artists and animators to really hone their craft.
2. They hire unicorn artists and animators, the best of the best and give them the time they need.
