The man who leads the Senate in prayer is fed up with thoughts and prayers.

Today, Senate Chaplain Barry Black's gave an honest and bold rebuke of the common empty sentiment in his opening prayer:

"Lord, when babies die at a church school, it is time for us to move beyond thoughts and prayers. Remind our lawmakers of the words of ... Edmund Burke: 'All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.'"

Chaplain Black’s words were so necessary.

UPDATE: Nashville Metro police reported that 3 children and 3 adults were killed at the Covenant School in Nashville, TN.

Two assault rifles and a handgun were recovered from the female teen shooter, who is also dead.
