@IsoHenkka Suurin etu lienee se, että EUn kauppasopimusten neuvottelu on aika kankeaa, koska EU:n jäsenmailla on niin paljon valtaa. Eli EU joutuu käytännössä sopimaan asiat 27 eri maan kesken, kun taas EFTAssa näitä on vain 4. Eli EU:ta ketterämpi & nopeampi - mutta reilusti heikompi.

@IsoHenkka Eli nimellisesti saa, käytönnössä (siis todellisuudessa) ei liikkumavaraa oikeasti oikein ole. EUn takaporttina toiminen on estetty.

Samalla mailla on yksinään, tai edes EFTA blokkina, aika heikko neuvotteluasema EUn verrattuna eli paremman sopimuksen saaminen ei oikein toimi.

@IsoHenkka ETA mailla tuota ei oikeasti juurikaan ole. Nimellisesti saa tehdä sopimuksia toki... mutta, mikään näissä ei saa olla ristiriidassa EUn sisämarkkinoita hallinoivien direktiivien kanssa. Ja näihin, tai muihin EUn asettamiin kauppasopimisten reunaehtoinen ne eivät voi vaikuttaa.

@LindgrenJussi Taisi enemmänkin olla tappio Islannin hallitukselle koko show. Tuohan oli oikeasti vain Islannin sisäpoliittista temppuilua, samaa mitä Cameron koitti Briteissä.

Meinasi mennä nilkoille tämäkin, ennusteet olivat kuitenkin luokkaa 55 - 60 % vastaan, mutta tiukemmaksi meni.

@LaineRjlaine @arnoahosniemi Väärin. Ei voi. Kaikki mikä kuuluu EUn sisämarkkinoiden piiriin on Islannin päätösvallan ulkopuolella kalastusta lukuunottamatta. Tähän kuuluvat tulli sopimukset, sekä kaikki mikä EUn markkina-aluelle tuodaan tai sieltä viedään.

Kannattaisi lukea mitä ETA jäsenyys tarkoittaa.

@John59593111 @OssiTiihonen In practice it was just a domestic political show in Iceland as government wanted to gain validity on its standing policy. It was probably a small loss for government as it appears that support for joining EU was actually slightly higher than what was expected.

@John59593111 @OssiTiihonen Sure you understood that it was non binding advisory vote that did not affect Iceland's ETA membership (i.e. need to follow all EU internal market rules, and not to have own trade deals that could affect it) in any way.

Despite of all the talk it didn't really mean anything.

@LaineRjlaine @arnoahosniemi Toisin sanoen Islanti noudattaa kaikkia niitä EUn direktiivejä jotka koskevat sisämarkkinoita (eli käytännössä pääosaa). Eikä islannilla ole mitään sananvaltaa saatikka keinoa vaikuttaa niiden sisältöön. Sen täytyy vain hyväksyä tuo.

Tämä on mitä ETA jäsenyys tarkoittaa.

@LaineRjlaine @arnoahosniemi Eivät voi. Äänestys ei muuttanut Islannin ETA jäsenyyttä lainkaan, joka tarkoittaa ettei se EUn vapaakauppasopimuksen takia voi tehdä omia tuota rikkovia sopimuksia. Islannin täytyy noudattaa ko sopimusta ja EUn kauppasopimuksia ilman omaa sananvaltaa niiden sisältöön.

Also that vote result wouldn't have meant anything to EU. It is a domestic advisory referendum on if Iceland should even consider joining, nothing more

Autoethnography can offer insights into or even be extremely valuable data for an existing issue. But I can not perceive that as research. That is the gap. Difference between (processed) data and research.

@MentalHealthCop It doesn't abide by the scientific method. That is it. Can not be reproduced, can not be falsified, can not be objective...

Autoethnographies (representative sample of them) could be used as data for research done validly with scientific method - kind of sensory analysis.

@realLauraFryer Not a game dev but software developer... I had this occur. In the past got a new management layer due to some one essentially just uttering a storm of buzzwords, i.e. typical "blockchain", "microservices" etc. junk - without actually even knowing what any of those meant...

@MaxE2review That is exactly how much value i can see a lot of the glorified memoirs offering, just singular perceptions or data points. With a representative sample a set of those could well function as data that could be analyzed in a study.

But that would require both work and effort.

@MaxE2review I kind of can see it reflected via sensory (taste, smell, sound) studies, that were part of the curriculum where i studied.

Single person's perception, even if honed by training and group consensus on terminology on the concepts could still at best offer you a single data point

@NeboTheDog @to48864 @DrewPavlou As someone with background in hard science... No. It can offer one data point. No more. It can be valuable data, sure. But never research. For me it violates the whole concept of expensive scientific method. I would never accept it.
