🚨 PSA: If you use CPU-Z or HWMonitor, read this.

The official CPUID site was compromised, and for a window of time it was serving trojanized installers instead of legit files.

Attackers hijacked download links and pushed malware designed to steal browser credentials, passwords, and potentially crypto wallets.

The payload was memory-based and evasive, meaning it could bypass typical antivirus detection and run quietly in the background.

Good news: the breach reportedly lasted only a few hours and has now been fixed, but damage depends on whether you downloaded during that window.

⚠️ If you downloaded CPU-Z or HWMonitor recently:
• Assume compromise
• Run a full system scan
• Change passwords immediately
• Enable 2FA everywhere

This is a clean example of a supply chain attack hitting trusted PC tools. Even legit sites aren’t safe if the backend gets touched.
