MRSS responders specialize in behavioral health crises. By focusing on offering crisis counseling and emotional de-escalation, not punishment, MRSS responders help avoid ER visits and police involvement.
Help us spread the word! Anyone in Ohio can now call 988 and ask for MRSS.
MRSS responders are trained in youth mental and emotional health and focus on calming and supporting, not punishment.
If you have a youth in crisis, call 988 and ask for MRSS.
Yesterday, @OhioDBH Interim Director Tia Marcel Moretti and I participated in a fireside chat during Daybreak's 50th Anniversary Champions for Youth Luncheon in Dayton. Daybreak provides essential services, support, and resources for homeless youth and young adults in the Miami Valley.
MRSS ensures that no family has to deal with a mental health crisis alone. Responders calm the crisis and provide prevention resources and skill-building so that youth and their parents have the support they need.
If it feels like a crisis, MRSS is here to help. Anyone aged 20 or under experiencing a behavioral health crisis or emotional distress can call MRSS and a trained responder will come to the youth where they are — at home, school, or any other safe place.
