If you or someone you love is living with a terminal or life-limiting illness and supports access to Medical Aid in Dying in Ohio let's fill this space with support.
Tom lives in southwest Ohio. He has a great life, and his cancer is stable. But that may not always be the case. All he asks for is the freedom to access Medical Aid in Dying as an additional end-of-life option. #LetMeDecide

We're going to be honest with you: unless the Ohio House Health Committee hears from you, we probably won't get a public hearing. Only YOU can demand a public debate.

David deserved the freedom to access Medical Aid in Dying in Ohio. He was denied this option. Let's create a future where terminally ill Ohioans with decision-making capacity have access to ALL end-of-life options. ❤️

Our volunteers are excited to meet you, your family, friends, and neighbors, and share information about the Ohio Medical Aid in Dying Act (HB 835).
So fun to meet with the chaplains from @AdventistHC after a screening of "The Chaplain & The Doctor". And what a heartwarming call out to Chaplain Betty Clark! Next stop is Cleveland, OH for a 7:00pm screening on Monday, May 18th at Atlas Shaker Square.
For the first time since 2018, Ohio has introduced the Medical Aid in Dying Act (HB835). Representative Eric Synenberg introduced this legislation during his press conference — a major step forward after years of advocacy to bring an aid-in-dying law to the Buckeye State.
Alongside him, our Board President, Lisa Vigil Schattinger, Shara Baumgartel of Marietta, Jim O’Neil of Waterville, and Michael Oser of Columbus shared deeply personal stories that underscored why the time to pass HB835 is now.

With Mother’s Day coming up, we’re honoring three mothers from three different states, each with the same end-of-life wish, and three different outcomes.
We know this time of year around Mother’s Day can bring a mix of emotions—joy, grief, gratitude, and longing for some of you. However you’re holding that space, we want you to know you’re not alone. We’re thinking of you too. ❤️

Access to Medical Aid in Dying is about real people. David wanted options. He couldn't have them because he lives in Ohio. We want to change that.
“Grandpa Chet isn’t here to fight this battle, but I am. I am asking my fellow Ohioans and our state legislators to look at the faces of their own loved ones and ask: If they were in agony, would you want to tell them your hands are tied? Or would you want to allow them this option that gives them the peace they’ve earned?”
Shara Baumgartel is one of the many advocates from Ohio, who shared personal testimonies last week in support of Ohio’s Medical Aid in Dying Act. Elevating the voice of her Grandpa Chet, an 88-year old man from Southeast Ohio, Shara’s Op-Ed comes from a place of love and support of her Grandpa’s final wish — to bring medical aid in dying to Ohio.
A powerful 2 min read, we encourage you to read Shara’s Op-Ed:

Real people are behind this issue. Right now in Ohio, someone is driving to chemo, preparing for surgery, or signing up for a clinical trial. They WANT to live! But, they also want access to high-quality hospice care and the option of Medical Aid in Dying.

It’s about time the @StateofOhio give serious consideration to allowing medically assisted aid in dying. @DeathwDignity, @OhioOptions.
