I have been seeing the reactions from some lawyers over Very Dark Man being invited to speak at the NBA Annual General Conference, and I honestly think some of us are taking this too far.
First, I am not a fan of VDM. In his early days, I saw him as an attention seeker, and I have never really been comfortable with some his approach to advocacy for the less privileged. But that does not mean I cannot acknowledge the things he has done that I consider positive.
Whether we like him or not, VDM has used his platform to draw attention to violations of human rights and abuse of power in Nigeria. He has been using and still using his platform to help ordinary Nigerians get justice in a country of ours where selective justice is apparent. You may not like some of his methods and approach, just like me, but you cannot pretend these things have not happened.
So, if the NBA invites him to speak, what exactly is the problem? Is VDM a crimin@l? Has any court convicted him of a crime? At least, none that I know of.And was he invited to teach lawyers the law? No. If he was invited to share his experiences and perspectives on issues affecting citizens and the justice system, I really don't understand the outrage. You people are talking as if VDM is a crimin@l who should not be seen among lawyers.
Since when did advocacy become the exclusive territory of we lawyers? Yes, NBA is a professional body, but its conferences have never been restricted to lawyers alone. Non-lawyers attend and have also been invited to speak.
I honestly think we need to stop gatekeeping conversations about law and justice. Sometimes, people outside our profession have experiences and perspectives that are worth listening to, even when we don't particularly like them. You don’t have to like VDM. I don't particularly like everything about him either. But that does not automatically make him useless or unworthy of being invited to speak at a conference.
Thank you.

UPLOAD OF O'LEVEL RESULTS FROM THE COMFORT OF CANDIDATES' HOMES
As a responsive organisation committed to providing efficient and accessible services, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has facilitated the verification of candidates' O'Level results directly from the various examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Consequently, candidates can now upload their O'Level results from the comfort of their homes, while the Board undertakes the verification of such results directly with the issuing examination bodies.
The initiative is part of the Board's renewed commitment to making services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates. By using technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, JAMB is putting candidate ease of service delivery at the centre of its operations.
The new arrangement also addresses challenges associated with manual O'Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades. Through the integration of JAMB's eFacility platform with examination bodies, results can now be verified directly against the examination body's records before being downloaded into the candidate's profile.
How to Upload and Verify Your O'Level Result:
FIRST LEVEL: VERIFICATION OF RESULTS
1. Visit “https://t.co/OI1v8FoA2m”.
2. Enter your “NIN” and click “Verify NIN”.
3. Select the desired number of sittings and the appropriate examination body/bodies, then click “Continue”.
4. Enter your email address and GSM number, then click “Pay Now”. You will be redirected to the payment gateway.
5. Make payment using your debit card or bank transfer.
6. After successful payment, enter your examination details, including:
i. Examination number
ii. Examination series
iii. Examination year
7. Verify your result(s) for the number of sittings selected and proceed to obtain your Verification Code.
SECOND LEVEL: UPLOAD OF O’LEVEL RESULTS
8. Send “VERIFY” {Verification Code} to “55019” or “66019”.
9. Your result will be uploaded, and you will receive a notification.
10. For candidates with two sittings: You will be notified to visit your profile on e-Facility.
11. On your e-Facility dashboard, click “2026 UTME O’Level Upload”.
12. Enter your “Verification Code”- Your two verified results will be displayed.
13. Select the required subjects from the displayed results, ensuring that:
i. You select a minimum of 5 subjects.
ii. You select a maximum of 9 subjects.
iii. No subject is selected more than once.
14. Click “Apply the O’Level Results”.
15. Upon successful upload, you will receive a notification confirming the submission.
The verification service provides candidates with a convenient alternative, especially during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the sixth Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, to a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system. The Board will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates.

Instead of complaining, “God, why won’t You answer my prayers? Nothing’s improving in my life.” Have a new perspective: “Lord, thank You for sustaining me. Thank You for giving me the grace, the strength, the favor to keep moving forward.”
