Let me be a banger boy for Messi. At least I am not claiming to be a sports journalist. My football takes do not hide behind the ethics and responsibilities of the profession you claim.

It has been over two weeks since Cristiano Ronaldo was bundled out of this World Cup, and you have been crying for every one of them. Unprovoked, you walked into my mentions to wail. You cannot wish me a recovery, because I have nothing to recover from.

You are the one in mourning. A man who shed tears across six World Cups for a trophy that will now never come. Who went looking for comfort and found it only against Uzbekistan. A supposed journalist who owes his readers at least the pretence of balance, and instead lost his head over a game reserved for those of us who never swore the oath.

So if I ever cry, I will do it standing between Cristiano's tears and Messi's. One weeping for the World Cup six attempts could not win. The other, for the joy of lifting it.

PS: I won't call you a 'banger boy' or any such insult. I cannot call you anything worse than what you already are.

Sending cold mails to professors isn't easy o. Even if you have 100 templates of how the mail should look like....you still have to go and search journals to read the professor's latest publications.

You read, understand and then pick the area of the publication that interests you..

While reading, you need to think deep and come up with a few ways to improve the research or make suggestions on what else can be done..

.This will help you ask one or two questions in the mail showing the Prof that you are a deep thinker...

You can link your own work to what the professor has done and suggest new research areas that can be looked into..

It's not easy I swear..

The annoying part is that you can do this 20 times to 20 different professors and only four will respond to your mail.

Two will tell you they are not accepting students currently...

One will reply and ask you to check back next year.

The last one may ask for an interview or introduce you to other professors

It's possible you won't even get a positive response..

A professor replying your mail even if he isn't available can elicit joy because you know how much work you have put in..

Inspite of this, thousands of graduates send hundreds of mails every year trying to get the attention of professors that may offer them funding.

It's not easy, but it remains one of the routes to getting admission and funding in highly competitive schools.

In some of these schools, you have to find a professor before applying. In fact, the professor Is supposed to fill and sign a form saying they have agreed to work with you..

It's not a walk in the park.

This brother called Pacho has ended the season with zero yellow cards in the league and champions league, it’s unbelievable.

He made his professional debut barely 7 years ago, but he plays like a veteran of the game. So composed at only age 24😭

You don’t have to spend billions to sign quality players, he cost PSG €40m, but Brainthwaite and the likes are valued at £80m. Sporting directors and scouts should do some work and stop being lazy, there are players out there waiting to be seen.

You see that club in Ecuador called Independiente del Valle, they produce solid players. From Caicedo to Hincapie, to Pacho, I’m sure scouts specifically go there to sign players.

These are the kind of leagues Tony Bloom and his Jamestown Analytics focus on.

Funny part is that there’s a story where Pacho didn’t want to go to Independiente, he had turned down a team before them because he’s a mummy’s boy, he said he can’t do without his mum😅. Independiente had to present a plan that could accommodate his family before he moved there.

This guy was scouted by Belgian club Royal Antwerp, and later to Frankfurt. Do you know the common thing amongst both clubs, he spent just one full season at both clubs before PSG, such smaller clubs can’t keep stars for long.

Bro has two champions league at 24, zero hype but he’s up there with the best. I can’t wait to see him for Ecuador at the World Cup. He’s a monster, a clean monster, not a typical South American defender😅

Dear young men and women, I am here again with solid advice from a place of deep concern.

Please marry early when you can.

Men, stop telling yourself "I am a man, I have time." You don't. And even if you think you do, what about your children? Do you want to still be paying school fees at 60 instead of carrying your grandchildren?

Women, don't wait until you are 30 and suddenly feel the pressure closing in. Desperation is a terrible foundation for choosing a life partner. When you are desperate, your eyes go blur and you are most likely to marry wrong.

By the time you are 55 to 60, your children should be done with school. Some should already be working and building their own lives. Plan with that picture in mind.

The country is hard. We all know this. But the truth is that you don't need wealth to get married. You just need to be able to afford food, shelter and clothing, and find a good partner who matches your values and your heart.

Please, I beg you in the name of God, do not lose a good man or a good woman because you are hoping to find someone better later. Some people will walk out of your life and never be replaced. You will spend years wondering what could have been.

Not everyone is replaceable. Some people are once in a lifetime.
