My uncle sold one of his houses and cars to move his wife and children to Canada. His wife went there to study, and after completing her studies, she got a job and eventually filed for divorce.

She took the children and moved to another city. She is now working as a nurse, but she also wants my uncle to continue paying child support while allegedly making it difficult for him to see the children.

Back in Nigeria, my uncle had supported her in many ways. He helped her get a job, paid for her master’s degree in Canada, and even opened a pharmacy for her. After she relocated, she handed the pharmacy over to her sister, who is also a nurse.

Now my uncle is feeling tired and lonely. He keeps saying he is getting weaker living alone in Canada and is seriously considering coming back to Nigeria.

Do you think he should return home and rebuild his life, or stay in Canada and try to fight for a relationship with his children?

Was he wrong to sacrifice so much financially for his wife’s future?
