10-60: The Stop | Construction Zone Enforcement
Construction zones exist to protect the people building and maintaining our roads—and the drivers traveling through them.
Slowing down isn't just the law, it's a matter of safety.
As our nation celebrates 250 years, we honor the generations who have defended our freedoms.
As you celebrate with family and friends, help keep the holiday safe:
▪️Leave fireworks to pros.
▪️Don't drive impaired.
▪️Suspicious activity, call 911.
Have a safe Fourth of July!
When in doubt, refer to this graphic. Only call the fireworks hotline to report illegal fireworks: 405-297-2222. Stay safe. Be smart.
We borrowed this idea from the Greensboro Police Department.
June 28th, K9 Dash was a hero after we found a stolen truck near SE 19th & S. Santa Fe.
Suspect tried to flee — Dash engaged him & held on as the truck dragged him down the road.
Suspect arrested, meth recovered. Dash treated for road rash, expected to recover.
Good boy!
Our Youth Enrichment Services Unit teamed up with OK Respond recently to help a local grandmother and her grandson make their home safe again.

Construction zones mean slower speeds, increased awareness, and extra caution — because lives are on the line.
In this episode of 10-60: The Stop, one of our Motor Officers stops a driver clocked at 57 mph in a 35mph construction zone.
A priority call of vehicle submerged in a local lake. Instead of tying up patrol units, our Real Time Information Center sent a drone first.
Zoom in....it was just a Port-a-Potty out for a swim. Drone cleared it in minutes — officers stayed on real calls instead of potty duty.
@OGBradBush Drones are stationed across the metro & are able to be deployed by our Real Time Information Center. They respond much quicker through the air than our officers on the ground while providing valuable information.
@CharliByrnes Supporting efforts at Freedom 250 venues and events. Similar to support at FIFA World Cup in KC. These events are helping us prepare for 2028 Olympic events set for OKC.
Nice work by our ERT officers in D.C. supporting Freedom 250 celebrations.
June 19th a large digital display collapsed at Lincoln Memorial injuring visitors & our team provided life-saving aid.
Both victims are expected to make a full recovery thanks to their swift response.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma is proud to recognize @OKCPD Sergeant Keaton Zerby as its 2026 Hometown Hero!
In the early morning hours of August 23, 2025, Sgt. Zerby sprang into action after discovering a neighboring law enforcement vehicle engulfed in flames with ammunition inside beginning to explode. Despite the danger, he helped evacuate residents, protect a deputy sheriff’s family, and alert neighbors as a fire threatened to spread through the neighborhood. Fire investigators later concluded that Sgt. Zerby’s quick actions likely saved lives.
As part of America’s 250th birthday celebration, United States Attorneys’ Offices across the country are recognizing individuals whose actions exemplify extraordinary public service, courage, and commitment to their communities. Sgt. Zerby’s selflessness and decisive actions display the very best of law enforcement service, exemplify what it means to be a caring neighbor, and epitomize the Oklahoma Standard!
Congratulations to Sgt. Zerby, our 2026 Hometown Hero!

This weekend, we responded to an unrelated call at @okczoo & left as honorary rhino snack servers. 🦏
When the keeper asks, ‘Wanna feed a rhino?’ the only correct answer is "YES."
