As much as I dislike them let’s be honest that without them local towns and counties services like schools, police, fire, roads, ect would just crumple completely without an alternative tax system. Unless you want to live in a taxless utopia society this isn’t realistic. Consumption and higher sales tax would still create taxes on individuals and if anything would just push more economic reliance on state government programs across states. Either way you’re still paying taxes
