🚨🔵 If you really understand football, you’ll realise that Chelsea’s biggest problem right now isn’t necessarily the defence it’s the midfield.

Our midfield is too weak and too easy to play through. When opponents can consistently penetrate the middle of the pitch, they will eventually get at your defence. You can have the best defenders in the world, but if the midfield doesn’t protect them, they will always be exposed.

Look at Barcelona and Manchester City. Their defensive structure starts from the midfield. Before you even reach their back four, you have to fight through a midfield that controls the game, wins the ball and dictates the tempo.

That’s what Chelsea are missing.

Our midfield selection needs to change. We need more control, more energy, better ball retention and players who can protect the defence.

Fix the midfield, and I believe we’ll see a completely different Chelsea team.
