Former #Sooners All-American Steve Zabel has died at age 78. This was Zabel's signature moment at OU, a 30-yard touchdown catch from Bobby Warmack to lead Oklahoma over Kansas in 1967 and clinch their first Big Eight title in five years. Bob Barry and Jack Ogle on the call

Following 90 years of service, Oklahoma Memorial Union's original clock movement ticked for the last time this week.
While this mechanism (originally installed in 1936) has officially retired, it's not leaving its home. It will soon be on display for visitors to experience a piece of OU history up close inside Oklahoma Memorial Union.

38 years ago today: No. 2 OU beat No. 1 Nebraska in Lincoln, 17-7.
Nebraska QB Steve Taylor said before the game: “The flat out truth is OU can’t play with us. The Sooners aren’t good enough. Let me tell you. It might not even be close. And I mean that.”
He was wrong. OU rolled and finished the regular season undefeated.
13 years ago today: Landry Jones to Kenny Stills for the game winner.

Jones broke his own school record that night, throwing for 554 yards and 6 touchdowns.
OU prevailed 50-49.
Animal House was released 47 years ago today. I wrote and sang the theme song, along with another track in the film called ‘Dream Girl.’ And yes, I’m the guy on the stairs whose guitar gets smashed by John Belushi. I still have the guitar and it’s signed by the entire cast.
