If anyone can connect me with a remote job opportunity that I can do as a student, I’d really appreciate it. I’m honestly in need of one right now.
I'm just a Nigerian student trying to pay my bills
10.20.2020
Nigeria keeps asking its people to hope, pray, and remain patriotic while its people keep paying the price.
They say our flag has two colours,
but I see three.
The third is the blood shed.
10.20.2020.
A day I can never forget.
My heart still bleeds from the pain.
Once again,
we lost our fighters
to the government.
And I still wonder,
How many more
must bleed
before Nigeria listens?
I, Bianca White, have chosen to sacrifice myself for a better future.
I sacrifice myself so my children can have the good, soft life I did not.
I want to build a status my child will look up to and say,
"Mom, I want to be like you."
For those who may not understand what I meant by “last offices,” let me explain.
Last offices refer to the care and preparation given to a patient’s body after death in the hospital.
As nurses, we clean the body, position the limbs appropriately, provide respectful care, and prepare the body for transfer to the mortuary.
It’s a sensitive part of nursing that requires dignity, compassion, and respect for the deceased.
It may sound simple, but experiencing it for the first time can be emotionally overwhelming.
Being a nurse isn’t for the weak. 😭
A patient just died, and we had to perform last offices on her.
You see this last office in particular? I never expected it. 😩
I’ve been fighting a battle in my mind for the past 30 minutes, trying to process what just happened.
I’m learning that nursing isn’t only about caring for the living. Sometimes, you have to learn how to care for the dead too.
And honestly, this one hit differently.
If this battle wins, I might feel haunted. 😭
