President @KagutaMuseveni today met the Local Organizing Committee for the 2027 AFCON, which briefed him on the progress of Uganda’s preparations to co-host the tournament with Kenya and Tanzania.
The President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the successful hosting of the continental showpiece.
This is a biased article by a low-ranking journalist.
1. Daily Monitor and NTV were closed for peddling fake news and inciting violence. With presidential authorization, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba took decisive action to close Daily Monitor because its inciting articles posed a serious threat to national security.
2. The former Speaker was removed from office due to corruption. She has never been a rival to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, contrary to the false claims in your biased article.
3. Lukwago was lawfully arrested and charged with treason in court. He is an accomplice of Besigye, who plotted to assassinate the President.
4. Gen Saleh has never frustrated Gen @mkainerugaba ambitions or work, as falsely claimed. In fact, Gen Muhoozi has repeatedly described Gen Saleh as his hero and mentor
The Commander of the Motorised Infantry Division, Major General Charles Byanyima, has assumed office as Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Nakasongola Army Secondary School, succeeding Major General David Isimbwa. CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is highly respected by African leaders across the continent!
His clear vision for a peaceful and prosperous Africa positions him as a strong leader who will drive the continent forward and firmly protect it from neocolonialism and its agents.
I met Rt Hon Baroness Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, today at State House Entebbe. We discussed investment and ways to strengthen the partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom. I also called upon British and European investors to take a keen interest in investing in Africa, as the continent has enormous potential for economic growth, trade, and prosperity. I welcome her.
In the picture, I am with Mr. Cohen Carlos, who owns Feldstein Co. Ltd., a gold refinery in Kampala. It refines Uganda’s gold to a purity level of 99.9%, which recently was earning USD 173,000 per kilogram. On account of the war in the Gulf of Persia, the price is now USD 129,000.
This particular one and a half kilograms of gold that I am holding is from Ibanda. Mr. Cohen is building another refinery in Morulem, Abim.
Uganda is waking up. We have 10 licensed gold refineries in Uganda. Mr. Cohen’s refineries are printing the Bank of Uganda logo on the gold bars.
Signed:
Yoweri K. Museveni
