I attended the @IEEEorg Technical University of Kenya Student Branch symposium at the Technical University of Kenya, where I witnessed brilliant young engineers contributing to Kenya's tech hub aspirations.
Kenya's progress in this direction is driven by factors like our youthful workforce, a focus on renewable energy, and government initiatives for digital transformation. The symposium provided a platform to explore cutting-edge technologies and fields crucial for a sustainable digital future.
I had the privilege of engaging with these talented engineers on key trends, including climate change, globalization, and the rapidly growing digital economy. Notably, the digital economy now represents approximately 15% of the world's GDP, growing 2.5% faster than the physical economy. Universities remain pivotal centers for nurturing tech talents, and I encourage young people to seize these opportunities to grow their tech skills.
Their innovation and enthusiasm are vital to Kenya's ongoing success in the tech space. #IEEETuksymposium
