Herridge has awoke me from my slumber to share with me this Alberta referendum business. This seems crazier than Aberhart`s funny money in my opinion, and of course it also is a likely stalking hourse for annexationists from the south. Tread carefully, my fellow Canadians.
Also, if we're real about Canada First! (and we should be, given the annexation menace to the south of us) we should really lay off all that stuff about shredding public broadcasting. I supported back in 1932 for a reason. The air belongs to the people.
I like all of this Canada First stuff, especially since it was my bit back in 1930. But let's be clear, you can't argue that the country is broken, and then say you alone can save it. Pollievre should be reading my old speeches on Hawaii, instead of going with three word salads
True when I said it, true today.
“Canada is, and always has been, our country. And we want Canada to be a True North that is as strong and as free as it can be in every way that matters: the best country in the world. That’s why we’re here, that’s why we strive, that’s why we serve. Canada must reflect the true character of the Canadian people: honourable in our dealings, faithful to our commitments, loyal to our friends. By turns, a courageous warrior and a compassionate neighbour. It is our purpose that Canada must be great, it must be great for all Canadians, it must be a country of hope and an example to the world. And only when it is these things, when Canada is all that it can be, only then can we say that our work is done.”
@stphnmaher@robhoadley I had many who did despise me, but I persevered until the very end. And I worked harder at it than Willie King, who Hutchison loved way more than King's own cabinet members ever did. I'm sure your nan was lovely, even if I never earned her vote. She would have loved Mildred.
@stphnmaher@robhoadley Bruce Hutchison was another journo who thought this, but I achieved a lot more than he ever did. LeBlanc reminds me of Chubby Power alas.
And so what if the public broadcaster gets a regular grant from Parliament to help send news and orchestral music across the airwaves? The air belongs to the people, as I argued in 1932. The fact that this is an issue highlights our further political decline. Worse than Manion.
In my day, every one knew it was government-funded media, in large part because I built the darn thing (the radio edition, that is). It's still a fine part of my legacy, from back when Tories believed in the State
BREAKING: CBC officially exposed as “government-funded media”.
Now people know that it is Trudeau propaganda, not news.

In an 'emergency' press conference, the truckers' new spokesperson Tom Marazzo says: "I'm willing to sit at a table with the conservatives and the NDP and the Bloc, as a coalition. I'll sit with the governor general."
NOTE TO MEDIA - I will NOT be seeking the leadership of my beloved Conservative party, on either a permanent or interim basis. I should add that all that persistent honking as ruined what used to a very nice slumber at the Chateau Laurier.
Mildred wants to know. Does the milquetoast insurance salesman have what it takes to defeat the Laurentian lad, or does that dapper bearded socialist have it instead?
I have lots of respect for @Puglaas today. That being said, I had to serve as Justice Minister in the cabinet of that hosebag Art Meighen, so I know firsthand what it's like when you're way smarter than your boss
As Herridge likes to remind me every few weeks as I quietly rest in Mickleham, this entire electoral mystery would be solved if only someone bothered to interview the thirsty gentlemen of Union Street
My favourite centre block memory? Hosting the Ottawa conference of course. Second favourite? Destroying that hosebag @ArthurMeighen in that epic railroad debate while I lingered in the backbenches. Good times those were.
Mildred is gently weeping tears of joy, and Finlayson is already writing telegrams of support to the new government caucus to be led by Mr. integrity sweater. I shall sleep well in Mickleham until I'm needed once more! #nbpoli
BREAKING | Brian Gallant's minority New Brunswick government defeated after losing confidence vote. Gallant says he will meet the lieutenant-governor and recommend PC Leader Blaine Higgs attempt to form a government. https://t.co/JkOLve3Qdt
Maintenant, vote sur l'amendement des conservateurs: vote qui déclare une non-confiance au gouvernement. Tous les députés PCNB et PANB votent en faveur.
