Having conversations on how we can address community issues such as sexual harassment in higher institutions of learning always opens my heart to the realities in our communities. If as leaders we remain relaxed and fail to address the issues we will keep loosing our communities.
Here is an opportunity to be part of a community of people that support and mentor @shelawsug. I was a part of this training and highly recommended it.

The past 4 days, I had the opportunity to engage in a journey to dismantling sexual harassment. We had conversations about the different policies in the institutions, learnt how to support our peers and how to deal with trauma if one is a survivor. We all deserve a safe safe.
The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) today hosted a productive and cordial courtesy meeting with Ms. Immaculate Mukasa, Executive Director of the Mentoring and Empowerment Programme for Young Women (@MEMPROWUganda), and her team. The meeting aimed at exploring practical ways the two organizations can work together to advance gender equality and equity across Uganda.
While chairing the session, the Commissioner for Compliance and Enforcement noted that the engagement offered a valuable opportunity to align on shared priorities.
Particular attention was given to the pressing challenges facing adolescent girls, young women, and other vulnerable communities including teenage pregnancy, child marriage, sexual and gender-based violence, and socio-economic exclusion.
The discussions identified several promising areas for collaboration, such as strengthening policy accountability, conducting joint public education and advocacy campaigns, sharing research and data, and coordinating efforts with stakeholders at both national and district levels.
The Commission reaffirmed its strong commitment to partnering with like-minded organizations to promote inclusive development and eliminate all forms of discrimination, in line with its mandate. We are genuinely excited about the possibility of building a meaningful and strategic partnership with Mentoring and Empowerment Programme for Young Women that will deliver lasting, positive outcomes for girls, women, and all Ugandans. #EqualOpportunitiesForAll
Earlier today at the Equal Opportunities Commission, I sat in a room where change felt possible.
Sexual harassment policies in higher institutions are either missing or gathering dust. We didn’t just present data. We spoke as young women who feel the need for Change.
Just completed an incredible 2month internship at Uganda Revenue Authority's Customs Department. Got deep insights into trade policies, laws, and verification processes. This experience is shaping my path as a future lawyer. I am grateful to the URA team for their support.
