@gorgeous_saint Akata means a lost cat or lost child. It is used for Africans living abroad. It's not an insult. It's the same way we call white people. oyinbo.
@gorgeous_saint Akata does not mean that first of all. No wonder they say you guys will take words you don't know the meaning of and try to make it a slur(you legit love acting like victims).
@gorgeous_saint dismissing us as soft. If a white person does it to you people we don't call it jokes. That's what I mean when I say you've been trying to invalidate our experience and gaslight us.
@gorgeous_saint “We joke everybody” doesn't magically make it not xenophobia. And “we would have been beating the brakes off y'all” isn't the defense you think it is. If Africans tell you we're offended by jokes specifically targeting us for being African, you can either acknowledge that or keep
@gorgeous_saint You won't understand because you don't even want to try to understand. You guys are literally the people who say you can't be racist or xenophobic because you're Black, and that's exactly the point I'm making that you can be xenophobic even if you're black.
@gorgeous_saint That is literally the point you’re refusing to understand. Being Black does not make you incapable of xenophobia You can share a racial identity with someone and still be prejudiced against them because of their nationality, ethnicity, accent, culture or where they come from
@gorgeous_saint So acting like Africans randomly decided one day that we didn't want solidarity is dishonest. Creating Pan-African culture or helping Africans in certain historical circumstances doesn't erase the anti-African prejudice that has existed within parts of the Black diaspora.
@gorgeous_saint@_MELL0WHYPE_ I've been seeing this bullshit flying around. I guess this is the new point that you people want to use to uphold your victimhood. You guys have always been xenophobic to Africans. And our parents do not tell us not to hang with you guys. It's you and your family making fun of us
@ivyseraphim@meiyokstar I don't get this mentality people have. Yes Lara should not be referred to as black representation because she's not. But not every black person as too be represented by another black person just because of skin colour. I am black(African) and I don't acknowledge Manon as a rep.
