Great has been the journey of walking side by side with you. And so today, on your 78th birthday, is a gift to me, to have the world join me in doing what I have spent 58 years doing: celebrating you.

With you, the weight of the assignment has always been a lighter cross to carry. Our two have agreed, and so our walking together has been of divine stride, a race continuously illuminated, step after step, decade after decade. My path shines brighter because I walk it with you.

Many people know you as Mummy G.O. I have the privilege of knowing you simply as my wife, my friend, and the person who has stood with me through every challenge, every victory, and every assignment God has given us. I have watched you give strength to others even when you were tired yourself. I have seen your quiet sacrifices, your compassion, your wisdom, and your unwavering trust in God. Those are the things that make me thank God for you every day.

Our children have been blessed because of your love. The family of God has been blessed because of your devotion. Countless homes have been strengthened because you answered God’s call with all your heart.

Seventy-eight years of your life, fifty-eight years of them beside me, and still I find new reasons to thank God for you. You have been wife, counsel, and companion in every sense the word was ever meant to hold.

As you celebrate today, my prayer is simple. May the God whom you have served so faithfully continue to uphold you. May He surround you with His peace, fill your days with fresh joy, strengthen your body, renew your strength, and continue to satisfy you with His goodness. May the years ahead be even more fruitful than those behind, and may you continue to see the mighty hand of God at work in your life.

A delegation from Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) on a professional study tour in Germany paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Berlin, on Tuesday 23rd June, 2026 as part of collaborative efforts between the Institution and the Mission on increased human capacity building and strengthen international and infrastructural partnership between Nigeria and Germany. They were received by the Ambassador-Designate, H.E. Ita Enang and senior officers of the Mission.

Delivering the address on behalf of the National Chairman, Engr. Jonathan Akintola expressed profound appreciation to the Ambassador-designate for the warm reception. He observed that the study tour was far more than a technical excursion; rather it was a deliberate effort to learn from Germany’s global recognized achievements in engineering excellence, infrastructure development, sustainability, innovation and quality assurance. He further highlighted opportunities for deeper Nigeria- Germany cooperation in areas of including Infrastructure development; Transportation systems; Renewable energy; Smart city initiatives; Water resources management; Environmental sustainability. The chairman expressed gratitude to the Embassy for its support and reaffirmed the Institution’s commitment to advancing professionalism, technical competence, and ethical standards.

In his response the Ambassador-designate, H. E. Ita Enang, warmly welcomed the delegation on behalf of H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Amb. Bianca- Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye, Honourable Minister of State, and expressed appreciation for the visit. He commended the NICE for undertaking the study tour and acknowledged the importance of exposing Nigerian professionals to advanced technological and engineering systems while promoting Nigeria’s capabilities abroad. The Ambassador-designate noted that Germany’s development trajectory offers valuable lessons in engineering innovation, research, technological advancement and skills development. He encouraged members of the delegation to ensure that knowledge acquired during the study tour translates into tangible benefits for Nigeria through technology transfer, institutional partnerships and professional capacity building.

The Ambassador-Designate emphasized that Nigerian engineers possess exceptional talent and ingenuity and should continue to project Nigeria positively within the international community. He further stressed the need for collaboration between professional engineering bodies and educational institutions to strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education in Nigeria. He also highlighted the critical role of vocational and technical skills acquisition in national development, noting that Germany’s economic success is supported by a strong culture of technical competence and professional craftsmanship.

The Ambassador-Designate, informed the delegation of the Mission’s ongoing efforts to facilitate partnerships between Nigerian institutions and German universities, technical colleges and skills development centres. He assured the delegation that the Embassy remained committed to supporting initiatives that would strengthen engineering education, research collaboration and professional exchange programmes.

The Head of delegation welcomed the Embassy’s commitment to collaboration and highlighted existing initiatives in capacity building, engineering education and international professional exchange. The delegation reiterated its belief that engineering remains a critical driver of national development and economic transformation. Members expressed confidence that stronger partnerships between Nigeria and German institutions would contribute significantly to infrastructure growth and human capital development in Nigeria. It was indicated that the Institution will formally engage the Embassy regarding future collaborative programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The delegation extended an invitation to the Ambassador-designate to attend the forthcoming Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers National Conference scheduled to hold in Lagos in October. His Excellency would be invited to serve as a keynote speaker and participate in the discussions during the conference.

EndSARS started as a movement demanding an end to police brutal!t¥, with many youths seeing it as an avenue to communicate with the government and demand better governance.

Unfortunately, certain elements with ulterior motives hijacked the protests and began burn!ng down Lagos, some acting on instructions from Nnamdi Kanu. Later on, the movement was further co-opted by "cashivists" who leveraged it to bargain for political positions from a desperate aspirant, Peter Obi. They essentially transformed the EndSARS movement into the Obidient movement.

While some youths still fell for their li£s and propaganda, others eventually began to see the truth. Ultimately, the Obidient movement was created to att@ck President Tinubu because they knew he was the frontrunner most likely to win the 2023 election.

WHY I SHARE MY LIFE STORIES!

I had a very tough and poverty-ridden background. I ran away from home from 1973 to 1976 to live with an Anglican priest. I was also a houseboy to an Indian couple from 1977 to 1978 to pay part of my school fees. I wasted 15 years of my life after finishing my A-Level before graduating from the university.

In the UK, I reported to the immigration authorities three times a week for 8 years, lost several appeal cases, used 8 different law firms, spent thousands of pounds on legal fees, was detained by immigration for 5 weeks, and was almost deported before I became a British Citizen, a Solicitor, and a pastor.

Just like the stories in the Bible that strengthened our faith in God, true real-life stories give people hope. If it does not apply to you, move on. Don’t argue with other people about another person’s story.

I love listening to preachers who share their life stories, and it has helped me to grow in the faith.

Do not be ashamed to share your life stories; you can save many lives and help others succeed without even knowing it.

BREAKING: Bola Ahmed Tinubu Rolls Out ₦11.8 Billion Interest-Free Loan for University Staff — A First in Africa
