With all due respect, the Bible teaches both mercy and justice. Genesis 9:6 says, “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed.” Romans 13:4 reminds us that governing authorities do not bear the sword for nothing. God commands us not to murder, but He also establishes consequences for evil. Forgiveness does not eliminate accountability, and redemption does not mean escaping earthly punishment. What about the dignity and sanctity of the innocent lives taken? You can believe in Jesus Christ, forgiveness, and redemption while still believing that justice must be served.
So the Catholic Church was wrong for 1300 years while it slaughtered peaceful followers of Christ or it’s wrong now?
I’m having trouble keeping up with all the RC flip flops
Here's what the last 4 popes said of the DP: the papal Mag of each of these 4 Popes is clearly disparate
JP2: that it be licit but rare, almost non-existent
B16: that it is licit to disagree w/ the Pope about DP (like the application of war, contrasting w/ abortion/euthanasia)
Francis: that it is inadmissible
Leo: consistent ethic of life
@poperespecter1 Wrong on both. One actually routinely executed people. The other goes on to distinguish between murder and the state's legitimate right to execute justice.
@Pontifex Catholic Church always telling us to uphold the dignity and inviolability of a person when its about lawbreakers, but never about the victims of the crimes. Their dignity doesn't seem to count.
Have a blessed weekend!
I pray Jesus will reveal His love to you in a very special way, especially to those of you who are sick, sad, or suffering.
Please know you are ALWAYS in my prayers. God bless you 🙏🏻
My 3 cents on Social Security:
1. The fiscal cliff is coming. We're going to have to do something--either raises taxes or cut benefits.
2. Whatever we do, let's not leave people in the lurch who depended on the government's promises and are now too old for a plan B.
3. The whole mess illustrates why we can't depend on the government's promises. Privatize whenever possible.
Michael Dell is an American hero, and so is his wife Susan. I don’t know their personal politics and I don’t really care if they vote like I do or not. That’s kind of the beauty of their gift too. They didn’t gift their billions to Republican’s kids or Democrat’s kids, they gave it to 25 million AMERICAN kids. In doing so they not only gave up billions they could have used in jets, yachts and investments for their own family; they set an example for every business titan in America. This is the most direct philanthropy they can do to seed the future of capitalism and our country. I’d also add that the work of @altcap@POTUS and @jgebbia were heroic on this front too. All American heroes! 🇺🇸
When someone invests in my kids, idc how they benefit from it... I say thank you.
Thank you @MichaelDell and @SusanDell for building a future for American children.
Very grateful for your generosity.
You mean the same way it was adjusted in 1983?
The tax was raised and the retirement year extended to pay for current retired?
The real difference is that generation understood the need for change to protect their parents and grandparents security, your generation is only concerned about yourself.
42 years ago, I started @Dell with $1,000 in my dorm room. Today, I’m deeply honored to receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation. 🇺🇸
Thank you @POTUS. This honor belongs to the incredible teams, partners and customers who made it possible.
The best is yet to come.
Keep building 🚀
This whole Social Security debate between boomers and other retirees and soon to be retirees vs the younger generations is very revealing.
1. Don't trust your government, or the politicians who operate it as a crime syndicate. They are not on your side, they are parasitic leeches willing to kill off the hosts to keep the power and money flowing in.
2. There is an awful lot of anger in our society. A dangerous amount of anger, like a powder keg about to explode. This is why "they" sew the seeds of division, because if all of that anger were directed at the real criminals, the true troublemakers there would be a revolution.
3. The voices open to compromise are few, and almost immediately shouted down in this internet theater where everyone is a brave warrior who will destroy the opponent (even though we know in reality they would never be so brave and aggressive.)
4. I will no longer even consider the idea of student loan forgiveness, or other government sponsored programs to help the younger generations after seeing the disgusting amount of contempt they hold for others and their willingness to throw people under the bus without regret.
5. Very dark times are coming unless "We the people" figure out a solution to avoid it.
It is disheartening to watch the up and coming generation getting fully behind throwing their elders under the bus on Social Security because they don't want to pay into it like we were forced to. That money was taken from us and it WILL be payed back one way or another.
So go to work, pay your taxes like every generation before you, and shut the hell up.
You don't understand now because you aren't old yet, but you will be someday, and there might be a generation of even nastier people than you looking to sink the same knife in your back.
