This was my first ever night on a cruise ship. I am starting in Amsterdarn on AMAWayerways and going to a list of places I haven't really examined carefully. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. when they started the diesels. At first I just pulled back the curtains, but it occurred to me that I could open the sliding windows and watch the world go by. We have been moving for 2 hours now, I'm having coffee, and this is really beautiful.

Boston has something they call "The Freedom Trail." Very clever. You can walk through a lot of the historic places just by following a line on the ground that looks like this:

Soon to leave Boston. It's a nice city, a very young population (at least in the parts I've seen) and physically very beautiful. It did occur to me yesterday that I've only seen it in the summer and there's a winter.
