@SuzannesOldBarn Thank you. The floor was the original sandstone flags circa 80mm thick. We took them up, laid insulation and relaid the stone. They were under 2 carpets and 2 vinyl sheets.

@Ingram_Leanne Thank you. I bedded my tiles using a 0-4mm sand and NHL3.5 mixed at 1:4. I pointed with a pre mixed hot lime with an 8% pozzolan using a 0-4mm sand as joints are wide. done another floor and I pointed that with the same mix I laid it with 0-2mm sharp sand and NHL3.5 mixed at1:3.5

160 year old penny struck lime pointing. Bricks in good condition with a small amount of natural erosion to the mortar as expected. Visible large lime inclusions, coal fragments and different aggregate sizes. #detailing #lime #mortar #listedbuilding #conservation

Spoke with professionals and suppliers. Some historic material suppliers mentioned putting cement render back and painting it with masonry paint. In depth research is essential along with trusting people and sticking to original principles. This has been a massive learning curve.

Surface finishes are essential. This wall continued to be an issue even after lime pointing. We applied a limewash, a gauged hot mixed harl and limewash. The wall and embedded timbers have dried out. Key video to watch https://t.co/yfmNEv7tNX Photos taken 24 hours apart. #lime

@mattlou69 Bathroom we installed a VapourFlow Blu-ray which I am impressed with. In the kitchen we just went for a Neff extractor which vents externally. If I was to go with anything I would contact VapourFlow. Just managing and monitoring moisture in the kitchen for now. So far so good.

Back grafting tonight. Reducing the ground levels. Ready for the new drainage and ensuring the levels are correct. Vent hole created in the wall for the kitchen extractor as well.

Front of the house now complete. All of the cement removed, gutters / drains all fixed, ground levels reduced and chimney works undertaken. #hotlime #repointed #timber #renovation

Today we installed the doors I bought in memory of my grandad. He was a bench joiner and appreciated craftsmanship. Am sure he would be over the moon with the timber windows and especially the arched door. #timber #windows #doors #bespoke #lime #building
