Hangin' with my Bokobros at the Skyview and a second later lightning kills everybody but me. I took their shit and launched. That's late stage capitalism in Hyrule.

@JezCorden If only there was a business model where a company like Microsoft could sell software and services on devices in stead of building devices and losing money on every single one.
@JustinShubow@EWErickson Nothing says "Supremacy of the State" like a heavy, monolithic structure that forces itself into the surrounding community and utterly dominates it.
@JezCorden It's called a "glass cliff" when someone, often a woman or minority executive, is promoted into leadership during a crisis, when the likelihood of failure is unusually high.
@avidseries By this logic anyone who thought Gaetz and Hegseth were unfit for office would also conclude the same for Platner.

@JezCorden What they need isn't a game, but a straight up commitment to XBOX for "X" years, 10 being a good round number.
"If you are worried about Microsoft sticking with XBOXโdon't be. We'll be making games AND devices today, tomorrow, and ten years from now."
@tomwarren As visual communication, they made one smart choice: the four-quadrant infographic as Windows logo. Most tech people would subconsciously recognize it even without the "Microsoft" label. Otherwise, too busy: C- grade.
@Daniel_Rubino@zacbowden Of course, the question that never gets asked is why Dell, or even more pointedly Microsoft, didnโt make this computer last year.
@JezCorden They used to break out revenue specifically for the Surface division. They stopped at the end of FY24. This may be why. It has not gotten better since then.
@JezCorden I ran a model and I concede the point. Losses are probably in the range of a couple of hundred million a year, a tenth of Windows Phone before it was cancelled.
@JezCorden Before Microsoft started hiding data, these revenue numbers translated into volume equal to several million units sold per year. Revenue has declined more, and current lineup and prices means maybe a million units a year or so at a huge loss in perpetuity. Nadella cool with that?
