Hey, guys! I'm proud to announce that, after many years of hard work, Awoken is now on Steam as a Coming Soon title, along with a brand-new trailer.

After a silent period, I am reviving this account. I am still working on the game (yay!) :)
It has now reached a playable demo that a few friends are testing for me. More info to come. Thanks for still being around!

@WhiteFalconPlay Yes, I have, thanks for asking :)
It will have 3 layers - about the King's son, about a magical accident and about looking for a lost friend.
Some more effort was invested into the keep. It has accessible interiors now and I made a system to hide floors above the player character.

I've been working on trees. But where there's a forest there's an ambush, as my group of heroes realized only too late. I had to add the minimap to give them the initiative back :)

Basic spells mostly work but it never feels right without visual and sound effects. Like they are lacking the power, don't they? First humble drafts - Frost Blast, Holy Smite, Sanctuary and Ice Block.

Hey guys. Let me show you the process of creating a keep for my game. I hope you find it interesting.
#1 3D sketch (+ later-stage parts)
#2 breaking it into reusable pieces
#3 some early fleshing out of the walls
#4 first rough version

I have improved the combat. Multi-combatant fights are in the game. Enemies cycle through spells, friends can heal each other.

The beauty of visual scripting.
Is it just me or are Anakin's and Sebulba's racing pods just crossing the finish line?
(This particular piece of code governs whether the companions follow the leader or stay put).

@MarvelusMrGizmo Hey! Honestly, ideas about the story are still a bit hazy. I definitely want the interactions between all members of your group to play key role. On the background, a story of a King who lost his son is looming. It should be an upbeat game though. (Sorry for answering so late :)
A friend of mine asked me to show him the process of texture creation. I thought that other people might be interested too. Let me know what I could do better.

@ImplausibleIndy Good point. Designer has been on my radar for some time, it's just that there is so many things I should learn/do that it never got into my ToDoNow! list. Shame. But thanks!
@Spec7raL_ I'm an old fart so I use Photoshop (step 1+5), 3dsMax (2), ZBrush (3), xNormal(4).
Steps 1+4+5 could be done in Painter and 2+3 in ZBrush directly, reducing the software count to 2.
My game has an Inventory and a Character sheet now!
Armor and weapons can be d&d'd between them.
Next step: linking GearGenerator to items. (I'm using borrowed icons for now, I hope the author doesn't mind. Sorry!)
