I had the unique opportunity to consult with the leadership of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) in Nyanza regarding the current state of affairs in our republic, particularly in their region. The Chairpersons from Nyamira, Kisii, Migori, Homa Bay, Kisumu, and Siaya condemned the unacceptable political violence that occurred on Friday in Keumbu, Kisii, where mobs attacked a convoy of the Linda Mwananchi faction with rocks and various projectiles.
Video footage of the incident shows mobs assaulting moving vehicles, significantly endangering the lives of their occupants and other road users. This escalating political intolerance, occurring less than 400 days before the general election, poses a serious threat. If left unaddressed, it could plunge our country into chaos by election time.
Such violence undermines and erodes the democratic gains achieved since the enactment of the 2010 Constitution. We urge all duty bearers to engage in legal and civic actions to combat this growing culture of political violence.
In light of this threat, it is imperative that all individuals of good conscience, including religious leaders, take a stand against political violence. We cannot afford to be neutral in the face of an evil that threatens to destroy the fabric of our nation.
We commend the people of Kisumu for demonstrating political maturity by mobilizing their communities to register as voters rather than resorting to endless political thuggery. Ultimately, it is the Kenyan voters who will determine their leaders, with that decision made on election day through the secret ballot.
There is no justification for voters to engage in violence against one another long before election day, especially knowing that we will each enter the polling station and cast our vote in secret for our chosen candidate.
I was joined by the National Organizing Secretary, Sheikh Juma Musa Asmani, and the Nyanza Regional Coordinator, Sheikh Omar Were Almasi.
Let us commit to maintaining peace.
It’s no longer interesting; it’s becoming a painful experience and a nightmare for our guests! After flying for three and a half hours from Jeddah- Saudi Arabia, and you spent four hours waiting for luggage. Something needs to be done urgently. This is unacceptable!@KenyaAirports @StateHouseKenya@WilliamsRuto@SUPKEM1@sahifamedia@JamiaTvKenya
@SUPKEM1@JamiaTvKenya Today, the 8th of Dhul Hijjah, is historically recognized as Yaum al-Tarwiyya, a day when pilgrims journey from Makkah to Mina in preparation for Arafah on the 9th day of the month. Like their Muslim brothers and sisters around the globe, 4,583 Kenyans have joined over 1.5 million others from various corners of the world.
Mina feels like a global village today, where Muslims of all heights, sizes, and backgrounds gather with a unified voice, chanting: “Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk.”
This moment embodies the spirit of unity, devotion, and hope that characterizes the pilgrimage, as all seek closeness to Allah and forgiveness for their past transgressions.

Last evening, we had a unique opportunity to distribute tents to our Hujjaj in Mina and Arafat using technology (AI) at the service company’s offices. We are grateful that every pilgrim with a valid visa and Nusuk card will receive a bed in both Mina and Arafat.
This year, the number of pilgrims served in this category totals 2,746 under the Kenya Hajj Mission/SUPKEM, provided by Ithraa Aljoud. Additionally, 233 other Kenyan pilgrims receiving VVIP services are under the Rawaf Mina Service Company. Furthermore, 656 pilgrims are served by the private company Darusalaam Trading Company, with Yosri Mashaer as the service provider.
In total, there are 4,583 pilgrims this year, including those providing services.#hajj2026 #KenyaHajjMission26 @SUPKEM1@JamiaTvKenya
Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfig Al-Rabiah, convened with 78 officials and heads of Hajj affairs offices from Islamic nations and countries with Muslim communities during the semiannual meeting of Hajj affairs offices in Jeddah, which took place alongside the 50th Grand Hajj Symposium. I was joined in the meeting by the Consul General of the Republic of Kenya in Jeddah, Ambassador Aden Mohammud Mohammed.
Al-Rabiah commended the collaboration among Hajj affairs offices and emphasized the critical importance of early planning and adherence to regulations in enhancing the Hajj system's readiness and improving the services offered to pilgrims.
He highlighted the necessity of following approved transportation and crowd-management plans, cautioning against random group movements in the holy sites due to their potential impact on both pilgrim safety and traffic flow. He urged pilgrims to stay within their camps in Arafat during peak heat hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The meeting also assessed the Hajj system's preparedness for the 1447 AH season, discussing various initiatives, operational services for pilgrims, and strategies to strengthen coordination with Hajj missions.
As part of our strategy to ensure that service providers meet our expectations and align with the intentions of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs— which prioritizes effective and efficient service delivery to the guests of Al-Rahman— we convened a meeting with our medical provider, Care Medical Hospital, operated under Jawar Medical Services, the only health facility within the Haram (Holy Mosque).
During our discussion, it was established that Care Medical Hospital will supervise our medical team and provide the necessary practicing certifications to facilitate foreign doctors in offering their services to pilgrims during Hajj. The hospital has already seconded two medical doctors to work alongside our team and will provide ambulance services as needed.
I was joined in this meeting by Bro. Omar Khamis, our National Treasurer, and Sheikh (Dr) Adan Yunis Ibrahim, the SUPKEM North Eastern Regional Coordinator. Representing Care Medical was Dr. Abdullah, who oversees medical services in coordination with the Hajj Missions and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Over the next week, we anticipate the arrival of the remaining 3,860 pilgrims, completing Kenya's quota of 4,500. May Allah accept their intentions and grant them abundant rewards.
I was honored to be joined in this welcoming ceremony by several distinguished figures, including H.E. Ambassador Aden Muhammud Mohammed, the Consul General of the Republic of Kenya in Jeddah; Bro. Omar Khamis, the Council’s National Treasurer; and Sheikh (Dr) Adan Yunis Ibrahim, the Regional Coordinator of North Eastern Kenya.
