The way we #work matters not just for our wellbeing, but also for society and the environment. Can we work differently? Can we work better? To answer these questions, we analysed 121 articles on work from #degrowth, #postgrowth, #postcapitalist and #craft literature.

My dear friends and I developed a workshop to (1) analyse the capitalist barriers to transformation in our food system and then (2) strategise how to dismantle them, using a degrowth perspective. The toolkit is freely available; more info here @UndiEnvi https://t.co/ZO66CNH6pV
Finally out! 1st diagnosis of the entire Planet. All the 9 Planetary Boundaries quantified defining Our Safe Operating Space on Earth. Bad news: 6 of 9 PBs breached. Good news: Window still open, we know what to measure, we can return and we win if we do! https://t.co/izhFV0OMrF
Do you know think tanks in Europe that work on social-ecological transformation or progressive politics more generally?
I am asking for a friend who is working on strengthening networks and building an anti-neoliberal (anti-atlas) network. 🙏
#Keilewerf was a unique place in #Rotterdam with many talented makers. Today the building was destroyed by fire. 40 makers lost their workplace and source of income. I had an opportunity to speak to some of them for my research, and I hope that Keilewerfers can have a new start.
At the same time, it's hopeful to see over a hundred people applauding statements that challenge capitalism and growth. Hopefully more concrete discussions will take place in the coming two days and hopefully this time we won't lose momentum for a transformation to a new economy
From 1970s on we knew about the limits to growth, and yet in 2023 we talk about going beyond growth as news.

"Democratic politics is broken due to the concentration of corporate power. Effectively our politics has been purchased." - @yanisvaroufakis on why capitalism is broken
Thank you Amanda Brandellero for your support and guidance with this paper! And it was a pleasure to continue work that we started with @DrGiuseppeFeola on an expanded framework of diverse economies.
Happy to share that my first PhD paper is published!
It critically examines how #capitalist, alternative capitalist and #noncapitalist ontologies and relations are negotiated in a hybrid #makerspace that integrates both community and commercial aspects.

Hopefully, this paper presents a modest contribution to expanding ‘spaces of possibilities’ and the ability to imagine credible alternatives to the (capitalist) status quo.

The Dutch city of Haarlem, pop. 160,000, is banning ads in public spaces for holiday flights, fossil-fuel cars...and meat (making it the first city in the world to do the latter). #Netherlands

@arisatha @g_kallis @timparrique @JKSteinberger@remblance_erin@jasonhickel How can capitalist/green growth policy environment accommodate degrowth initiatives? Can they co-exist? If not, what can municipalities do to facilitate degrowth transition?
