Last weekend the Year 10 students went on a weekend residential to Condover Hall. The weather was lovely and sunny which made the outdoor pursuits all the more enjoyable. The evenings were spent enjoying a silent rave and having lots of fun together. Thank you to all involved.
Yesterday we held our annual staff v's Year 11 students sports tournaments. It was such a fun event in the spring sunshine and the players and spectators all really enjoyed themselves.
Ultimately in a trial of youth versus experience - our students triumphed!
Next week the Welfare Student Council Action Team will be starting a swap shop. There will be a box in reception and we are asking for donations of used or no longer needed supplies e.g. pencils/pens/pencil cases/school bags and uniform that can be redistributed to our community
Blackburn Rovers striker and ex pupil Maria Edwards came in to school to speak to our Year 7 students. She gave a talk about her time after Our Lady's. It was a huge success. She put on a training session for the YR 7 girls and the girls football teams which was also brilliant.
Today for Ash Wednesday all pupils took part in a liturgy in form time, focused on the purpose of Ash Wednesday as the start of Lent. At lunch pupils were invited to receive the Ashes. We were really pleased with how many pupils engaged in this important ritual!
