My children find the name “Francis Bacon” unreasonably funny. This morning I sighed and said “poor Francis Bacon!” and my 13yo goes, “I just think she’s pretty high and mighty for someone named after breakfast food!”
@scotchsoupmaker Plain water was harder for me to keep down than flavored. Lemonade, iced tea, lacroix, gatorade, chocolate milk, sprite — all ice cold — were better.
@scotchsoupmaker Zofran did nothing for me. I’m sorry. 😭 Sprite, McDonald’s, milk and cookies and taking a nap — if I went to sleep or distracted myself during/after eating it helped. Mint gum, carbonated drinks, ice cream, candy — keeping my blood sugar from dropping too low helped.
@HeatherMJames3@castlehillmom I can imagine, because my hired driving instructor in high school smelled so bad I begged my mom to do something and she called the agency to see if they could send someone else and they said, don’t worry about it, we’ll tell him to shower! 😳
@HeatherMJames3 Ok, good to know!! My Oma had high blood pressure and heart issues so it’s on my radar but I haven’t been seen by cardiology at all. I’ll ask about it at my next appointment.
@HeatherMJames3 Have you ever asked for any specific cardiac referrals etc for follow up? I feel like I’m still a bit slower mentally even — but I’m also 6mo pp & they’ve suggested a sleep study to see if sleep issues are playing into the BP. I love hearing that solved it, super encouraging!!
@HeatherMJames3 They sent me straight over—I have a lot of memory gaps while they stabilized me w/magnesium etc. It triggered hypertension so my last (6th) was high risk. Lots of monitoring & she needed to come @ 38wks. I’m still on meds but hoping to slowly improve & get off.
@HeatherMJames3 Sorry, tweet wasn’t clear — I had 3 HBs, HB midwifery care w/my 4th but transfer for c/s, then was planning hospital vbac w/5 when pre-e hit hard. I am VERY thankful I had a prenatal the day I did — I always have a lot of nausea, headaches, etc, & had ankle swelling for weeks.
@CheerfulReader I mean…hard to really call it disappointment when you unwrap a Beatrix Potter you didn’t have already…but I was very excited about Mr. Toad! 😆 Contracted customer service so we’ll see.
@HeatherMJames3 🙋🏻♀️ 4 home births w/o bp issues before severe pre-e. I wish we knew how to support the body better, understood more about causes, had better protocols for postpartum moms (besides — “go to the ER if…”) — but I’m grateful when we needed all the interventions, they were there.
@carlympowers Often they would take longer than I would to eat, or I would squeeze a few bites at a time in while they retold or discussed a passage I’d just read. Or I’d sip my coffee while reading and eat when they were playing afterwards.
@CheerfulReader@wrightca The kind of thing that leaves me wondering if i want to leave it all a strange mystery or track down the offender to explain why putting a hotdog in the sunglasses spot is not good. Why do these things happen?! 😂 (not the banana — that was definitely just me.)
@beyondwaiting Yeah if the answer is always more supervision instead of expecting 4 year olds to follow clear directions like “put your hand on the stroller while we cross the street” then it limits the amount of the world your children can experience OR how many children you can have.
