Al Braca, a bond broker for Cantor Fitzgerald who worked in the World Trade Center (WTC).

On September 11, 2001, when the plane hit the North Tower, Al Braca was trapped with his coworkers on the 105th floor.

With lines were all jammed. he dialed "O" and got an MCI operator. he said, "You've got to help me. My name is Al Braca. I'm in the World Trade Center, and I need you to get a message to my wife and family." The lady operator sounded alarmed but agreed to take his message; her name was Wilma.

Urgently, Al said, "I feel like my feet are on fire. I'm not going to make it. Will you tell my wife Jeanie and my children that I love them. Tell them not to worry about me."
"Promise me that you'll tell my wife Jeanie." She agreed to tell his family and stayed on the line listening until the Tower collapsed.

Realizing they could not escape, he famously chose to comfort his panicked colleagues, gathered them together, and led a group of 50 people in prayer, leading many to Christ in their final moments.
