there’s such a clear pattern in how fandoms treat black female characters. their narratives are met with less empathy, they’re reduced to stereotypes, and what would be seen as depth or complexity in a white character is reframed as something to condemn in black women.

this refusal to grant them softness or nuance is not just fandom behavior, it’s cultural conditioning. even in spaces built around fantasy, people still replicate real-world hierarchies of who deserves love, humanity, forgiveness. it’s crazy to me how to this day only white people get to be seen in full color while everyone else gets flattened
