right I need to be Honest for a bit
I came to the final decision to drop out of university at the end of 2024, as it’s just been a massive drain on me mentally that would take time away from my own endeavours and I simply haven’t gotten much out of it, making this my final semester. I’ve been taking courses at a glacial pace to allow time for Anything Else, so if I were to continue at that rate, I would be unlikely to get out for another 20 years or something. it’s honestly lifted a pretty large weight off of my shoulders, as I’d never seen university as being My Future and being the path I wanted to focus on for my career, and I really just want to move on with my life. I now feel free to do just that
as a result, I am looking for a full-time position in graphic design, specifically UI/UX design, and I will now actually have the time to take on one with university out of the picture
I’m in Germany so my time zone is CET, but I’m rather flexible and will be able to accommodate international time zones. it MUST be remote within the immediate term, but I am open to relocating in the future and move to working in-office if that would be preferable to you
you already know what I do, so contact me at [email protected] if you’re interested in working with me
@MojangStatus Considering the severity of this disruption for a service that is importantly a PAID service, all subscribers should at minimum be compensated for the time they weren't able to play. Do you not value your customers?
@emplexx They got no acceleration on the character but smoothing on the camera, so the player's position relative to the camera is all over the place. Compare this to basically any other platformer
@xparacosm@badnarrator_@emplexx It's worth noting that the amplitude of the noise is the same regardless if dithering is enabled or disabled. Dithering is a "smarter" way to downsample which results in the noisefloor consisting of white noise rather than distortion. It's not adding any more noise.
@badnarrator_ You know how the higher the bit depth the lower the noisefloor? What exactly is the "noise" in the noisefloor? If dithering is disabled, it's distortion. If dithering is enabled, it's white noise (or some other form of consistent noise tuned to be as inaudible as possible).
@pixel_sorting Clean dust out of the bottom of the port and try a different cable. I've had my phone for 6 years. The cables have come and gone but the port is still perfectly good.
> make a game
> game is fremium
> game makes 200k from in-app purchases after being installed 3 million times
> now owe Unity 20c per 2.8M installs, $560K
> that’s 360K more than we made
@djebrayass@emplexx Maybe what if all plugins were run in a separate process from the DAW itself? Less context switching but all the plugin code would still be isolated from the DAW itself. If one plugin crashes, all plugins crash, but the DAW itself stays intact and can just reload the plugins.
@djebrayass@emplexx I feel like it's dumb that a plugin crashing tends to take the whole ass DAW with it. I wonder if it be feasible to run plugins in separate processes or if the context switching that would require would cause too much performance overhead.
@emplexx I always say this when people say they run out of RAM: What are your page file settings in Windows? Is its size set to be managed by Windows, or do you have a fixed size? If it's managed by Windows, your computer should just slow down but never crash as it swaps memory to disk.
