@GarySmithJnr Wasn't complaining about the fairness of being able to break the championship wage record when other teams in the championship obviously can't compete with that how is that fair p.s this is how villa sounds when they moan about psr etc etc
@NostalgicNUFC We bought anelka for 500k sold him after two years for 22.5M then bought in Henry For 11M then sold Henry for 16M after many years of good service
@JohnSha75430242@JayToonArmy1 But we went through one summer just signing a GK but we had to to pay the debt for the stadium we suffered short term whilst having a dedicated manager who could have gone to Madrid or to manage France but he understood that we needed him to help us get through that period
@JohnSha75430242@JayToonArmy1 Look at the replacement's that came in and you'll have to agree that a lot of arsenal business back then was intelligent and clever sold when a player was right to sell Anelka and bought in Henry a bit of luck is always involved with how players get on in the league
@Trentvilla1@DeanPeniro No increasing stadium capacity increases match day revenue most of the big 6 probably earn at least double what villa does on match days, season ticket prices, hosting other events
@JohnSha75430242@JayToonArmy1 Arsenal after building the Emirates had to sell their best players to direct rivals to pay off the stadium debt they suffered for a period to be able to now have the financial stability and to be self sustaining compare each clubs match day revenue and you'll understand more
@icecreamavfc@SimonLester2468@ToonFanPhil Why didn't the owners build a bigger stadium to have long standing sustainability? Which is the easiest way to increase revenue in stream and why wasn't you complaining when u smashed the championship wage record? Oh yh cause it benefited you and others around couldn't compete
@JohnSha75430242@JayToonArmy1 Even if you could spend it doesn't guarantee you success or trophies or consistency they have spent over 1.2b since new owners and are no where near competing consistently for titles or trophies
@icecreamavfc@SimonLester2468@ToonFanPhil Facts of the matter is your owners need to be looking for ways to build your revenue also do you believe a club should have a wage to revenue ratio at what 92% in a year it's different now but that's not sustainable
@icecreamavfc@SimonLester2468@ToonFanPhil Well if Emery is as good as everyone say's he'll surely be able to keep villa consistently in the CL which in the long term will help villa be able to spend more i didn't hear any complaints though when villa broke the Championship wage record
@hereforavfctalk@AbsoluteEverton So we can agree that spending big doesn't guarantee success and that clever recruitment and use of funds is and always will be the most viable option what about a record breaking wage bill in the championship would you say that was unfair to other clubs back then?
@danrsvilla@SaltySays@premierleague@FA Everything that was done back then was to make sure we were in a good financial position in the future, villa owners need to really work on stadium upgrades/new stadium potentially also give Emery what he needs to consistently get CL football
@danrsvilla@SaltySays@premierleague@FA To pay for a ground in which has massively helped us be in the position we are in now the club knew it needed to grow it's revenue and they did by making that decision and then to be tight on the spending to pay it off whilst also having wenger perform miracles with crap
