After a good farm meeting is a nice meal. Today Olosida hosted Osero camp and Lower Mara River WRUA members deliberating on commercial forestry, conservation of River Mara from Emarti to Tanzania while bringing more partners together to improve R.Mara water health.

A very important move, as a single tree tree serving different functions like Mulberry (Ntare) for fodder & fruit. Sesbania & acacia are good hardy trees fodder that can be adopted in tropical arid regions.

30% of 15bn trees programme will involve the growing of fruit-and fodder-tree species to take care of the food, nutritional, environmental and economic needs of communities…

The Ministry is implementing the initiative through a whole-of-society approach that brings together all stakeholders including MPs, and counties through NG-CDF and other devolved resources to propagate adequate seedlings in schools to support the programme.

Schools and learning institutions are critical drivers of the tree growing programme because of their elevated positioning as dispersal points and centres of excellence for transformative initiatives among communities.

Together with Forestry PS G. Mugambi, met Kajiado Central MP, Hon K. Memusi to discuss the 'Going Green' initiative in Kajiado Central Constituency, a model which seeks to accelerate ecosystem restoration activities by optimizing community engagement, partnerships and capacity building to achieve sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and socioeconomic empowerment through schools..
