In Yoruba land, during the reigns of our forefathers, when a king admired a lady, one of the earliest gestures was to allow her physical contact with him, through a handshake or a warm embrace if she was within reach.
Thereafter, the king would publicly proclaim her as his own Ayaba, thereby taking full charge of her existence.
Oba gbe ese le!
What Oba Elegushi did was a profound expression of deep admiration for this young lady. Her beauty and captivating aura had completely filled his soul.
By this singular act, the King has claimed her, and no one else is permitted to draw close.
May the King live long with good health and strength!
Kabiyesi ooooooo!
This is the only media that the whole world needs to see right now.

This is Shafi’u Tureta @shafeeutrt. He was arrested and imprisoned for criticizing Sokoto’s First Lady for dancing with dollars on her birthday and for calling out the governor over spending N1.2 billion to repair 25 boreholes. He has now been in prison for almost two weeks!
Shafi’u didn’t release the video; according to his brother, it came from the First Lady’s friend who shared it on WhatsApp. Shafi’u’s only 'crime' was exercising his constitutional right to free expression.
We demand Shafi’u Tureta’s immediate and unconditional release. Nigeria is a democracy, not a dictatorship.
The Sokoto governor should focus on delivering his campaign promises instead of targeting critics, which only damages his reputation. #FreeShafiu
