Glad to have received the award for being the best Physiotherapist in the Lagos State Health Service Commission for the year 2023
#HappyWorldPhysiotherapyDay
It gladdens my heart to see these Nigeria Physios vs Doctors conversations evolve from Drs telling physios what to do in referrals/things like referring for “hand & leg physio”,
To convos about what conditions a Physio can see/not see as a first contact practitioner
Progress!
@iamblunt00 In your example, it’s slightly a different conversation. That was writing a possible diagnosis for treatment.
Now imagine the Pediatric resident listing out how many milligrams of a particular medication/a procedure to be done by the ENT.
See how silly that sounds right?
@iamblunt00 I don’t know if you see how clinically wrong that recommendation was. More importantly, it wasn’t necessary at all.
You need your client have increased knee flexion ROM? Lovely!
Then leave me to worry about how to make that happen.
Are you getting the discourse better now?
@iamblunt00 There’s a clear difference between stating clinical objectives vs spelling out “assumed” treatment protocols for the physio to perform.
The worst I’ve seen was an orthopaedic surgeon asking for me to elevate a client’s lower limb to improve knee flexion ROM post TKR🤷🏽♂️
