How can UCH Ibadan doctors go on strike and it feels normal?
Is it until an Ibadan person becomes President that the institution gets the quality attention that it deserves. It’s so exhausting that service delivery means so little.
For how long would this continue?
A RESPONSE TO MR. BABACHIR LAWAL'S FALSEHOODS AGAINST PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO, SAN, GCON
I have watched the video in which former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, made a string of allegations against former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. Ordinarily, such fabrications would not deserve a response.
But I served as the Vice President's spokesperson. I was in the room where many of these decisions were taken. And the allegations touch directly on the staff of the Office of the Vice President — of which I was a part. For the sake of the record, facts only must be stated.
1. On the claim that President Buhari considered Osinbajo's 2022 aspiration "immoral":
This is false.
On at least four separate occasions, President Buhari personally offered to support the Vice President, telling him plainly: "If I don't support you, who will I support?"
He was consistent. During the APC presidential primaries in 2022, while campaigns were underway, President Buhari openly commended Vice President Osinbajo at a Federal Executive Council meeting for the dignified, issues-based manner in which he was conducting his campaign across the country. He spoke in a laudatory tone. The entire Council witnessed it.
That is not a President who found Osinbajo's ambition distasteful. That is a President who broached it , encouraged and applauded it.
2. On the so-called memo of 20+ staff names:
Mr. Lawal's claim that Osinbajo wrote a memo containing over 20 staff names, which was sat on by the President's Chief of Staff, and which he, Mr. Lawal, then took to President Buhari, is a complete fabrication. There was no such memo.
Anyone who knew President Buhari knows he does not engage in the kind of snide ethnic profiling Mr. Lawal attributed to him — "BD, these are all Yorubas." That language and that conduct are alien to President Buhari.
The procedure was simple and verifiable: Prof. Osinbajo always had direct access to the President. He took his memos directly to the President, obtained approval, and passed the approved memo to (his own Chief of Staff), Mr. Ade Ipaye, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President who then communicated it to the relevant agencies for action. At no stage did this require the SGF, except for the subsequent issuance of appointment letters for staff.
Mr. Lawal's timeline also collapses. He claimed the memo was delayed for three months. I resumed in the Office of the Vice President in June 2015, alongside several other colleagues. So did many of those whose names he now invents. There was no three-month delay. To those of us who were there, this story is pure fiction.
What actually happened in 2015 is that Osinbajo took different batches of memos to the President at different times for different categories of staff as the office was being set up and as government policies evolved. That is standard practice. There was never a single, bloated, religiously and ethnically-charged list. It is quite simply incredible that Mr Lawal would create such falsehood. It is also noteworthy that by the time a good number of the appointments were made Mr Lawal had been sacked by President Buhari ( not Osinbajo) for corrupt practices.
3. On the composition of Osinbajo's staff — the church claim:
The claim that Osinbajo appointed people because they were church members is false and is easily disproved by the staff list itself. The Office was one of the most inclusive, pan-Nigerian offices in that government — North, South, East, West, Christian and Muslim.
To suggest a narrow church agenda is not only to ignore the facts , but to pursue a curious and worrying vendetta.
Let the facts speak:
The most senior official in the Office — the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President — was Mr. Ade Ipaye, a Muslim and a distinguished lawyer.
Three of his four Special Advisers were Muslims, including two Northerners: Mrs. Maryam Uwais, Special Adviser on Social Investment, and Dr. Ahmad Zakari,...
Join me on @channelstv Morning Brief tomorrow, Tuesday, 6 October, at 8:20 a.m. as I discuss our findings on Mbaitoli/Ikeduru federal constituency election where results were written before the election started, and Rivers National Assembly election, where the count on IReV differed from the official declaration.
Tune in and join us.
‘God Save Me’.
That was the graffiti (pictured below) imprinted on a car by an unknown African migrant held hostage at a trafficking house in Ghut Shaal, Janzur, in north-western Libya.
In truth, only God can save any migrant who gets stuck in Libya after abandonment by heartless Libyan traffickers and kidnappers or arrest and detention by the police. But the mortal that I only am, I am determined to save as many migrants as possible from asking God to save them after embarking on an ill-advised trip to Libya.
Therefore, starting tomorrow and for the next 20 days, I’ll be on a campaign of short videos enlightening the public on why they should steer clear of Libya. These videos will be on all social media platforms, but my primary targets are Tiktok and Facebook, where traffickers often hoodwink unsuspecting youth with fake promises of a better life.
For the first 10 days, my messages will be released in English (morning) and Pidgin (evening).
The final 10 days will be made in Hausa (morning), Igbo (afternoon) and Yoruba (evening), consequently eliminating language barriers among subliterates and illiterates, who constitute the prime target groups of traffickers.
I know some will only learn by experience and will proceed to Libya regardless of advisories to the contrary, but I also know many would stay put in Nigeria if they had access to credible information.
Migrants like ‘Para’ and Samuel who told me “I wouldn’t have come if I knew I would suffer this much”, those are my targets. So help me God!
To those who have read today’s piece and described it as “scary”, fasten your seatbelts. Part II to be published by @fijnigeria tomorrow will be scarier.
And Part III on Friday, that’s the scariest!
I spent 47 days as one of several thousand African migrants seeking to enter Europe through the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea.
Story on @fijnigeria tomorrow, Thursday and on Friday.
Five days into my next undercover investigation, set to be released by @fijnigeria later this week, I sent the picture in Frame 1 to my three-man backroom team. They all laughed at me, one of them remarking I looked “like a fisherman”.
The pictures in frames 2 and 3 are from my 44th day on the field. Nobody was in ebullient mood this time. They all screamed instead. None of them could say it, but I knew I could pass for a mad man on the streets.
Meanwhile, Frame 4 is who I was before I embarked on the project.
It is the first time ever that I’ve given the public a glimpse into the making of an undercover investigation. I do it this time to contextualise public understanding of the physical, material and mental cost of investigative reporting. Behind every daring work of investigation you have read is several weeks, sometimes months, of self-sacrifice by the journalist.
Of higher importance, I do it to remind younger journalists that investigative journalism isn’t the white-collar stardom propeller many seem to think it is; more often than not, it is about getting your hands dirty while still believing this is hands down the best job in the world!
It feels good to be fully back on social media after nearly five months out…
OSOGBO, OSUN: Following the de@th of the dang£rous criminal and notorious NBM (Aye) cult number 1 man in Osogbo, Olalekan Oyeyemi, alias “Emir Ajagungbade” who was k**led in Ile-Ife on September 13, several people have been att@cked by his boys/cult members in Osogbo, despite security reportedly being present. At midnight, around 12-1 am today, September 15, a man named Asha was k**led by NBM cultists said to be boys of Emir, around Dele Yes Sir in Osogbo. Asha reportedly sold barbecue fish at Dele Yes Sir junction, close to Zeus Club. Eyewitnesses reported that the NBM att@ckers, who came in two motorcycles, went towards Asha, and he was shouting for help, but was eventually sh0t in the neck area.
Although reports indicate that Emir was k**led as a result of park/union politics, reports indicate that some of the names suspected to have been involved in his k**ling are also members of his own group (pictures of Emir’s b0dy on TG). Emir had committed multiple crimes and had k**led many people. He had many enemies in union/park politics, as well as Osun State politics, as he was also a political thvg for the Accord Party who had k**led political rivals. Apart from politics, Emir had enemies in the area of cultism, as he was not only an enemy of rival cultists, but also an enemy of many members within his own NBM cult group. Recall that in 2024, Naija Confra had reported a cl@sh within the NBM cult group, where Emir was att@cking other members of his own cult group. Emir was a target of many people.
While some politicians and other individuals who have benefited from Emir’s crimes would want to praise him online, Naija Confra will tell the true story of the real Emir, who was a k**ler and had hvrt many people and families. In our last report on Emir, we downgraded his CV, as we did not include the fact that he was also involved in several armed robberies. Emir’s de@th will definitely result in violence in Osun State, just the way violence happens after any notorious criminal or cult leader is k**led, but just like others, the news of his de@th will eventually fade away, and everyone will move on.
A man named Asha was k**led today and we urge the police to stay active to prevent further att@cks. We also urge others who live a life of violence and crime, and those who also promote and celebrate it, to learn from this. Repent now, or one day, your own time will come like Emir’s, and nothing will save you, not even your ch@rms.
Yes, hold your governor to account but don’t forget that the Federal Government still consumes 52% of our resources. 36 state governors only share 28% and 774 LGAs only share 20%. Even if states were to control all LGA funds, that would still be 48% divided among 36 governors while the Federal Government alone consumes 52%.
That’s why the Federal Government can afford to triple the number of agencies it has since the Oronsaye Report from 541 in 2012 to more than 1600 in 2016. That is why the Federal Government can even afford to have fake agencies.
Nigeria is a lawless country! This is a very shocking news to me because I know this woman. Her name is Ade De Gold.
She was running a daycare in front of my family house in Iwo and was actually close to my late father. At some point, she wanted my dad to help her obtain necessary documents to standardise her school, but he declined because she did not have the required educational background.
The first time she was caught stealing a baby was about. She claimed she had been involved in an accident, and even my parents went to the hospital to check on her. That was 7–8 years ago I think and she was pregnant at the time.
She was later arrested in Ogbomoso for stealing another baby. What makes it even more disturbing was that her own baby was already about three months old at the time. She left her baby at home in Iwo and travelled to Ogbomoso to steal another baby!
Now, she’s doing the same thing again in Ibadan. Well, she came to Iwo from Ibadan because she’s originally from there and her mother was the one doing alagbo omo.
How was she released after the previous incidents? Was she ever charged to court? Is there anyone working with her or protecting her? And if she is released again, where will she be in the next two years?
This is too serious to ignore. I sincerely hope the relevant authorities investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that justice is served.

You guys remember the 100+ Oru East results without any agent signatures? I decided to dig further.
I looked at the result sheets' metadata, and here's what I found.
Photos taken on election day: 0
87% were shot the day AFTER. The rest were taken up to 10 days later.
And where were the pictures taken? Two central locations - one in Omuma, Oru East, and the second along Port Harcourt–Owerri Road (most likely the state INEC office).
How can this be explained?
SEYI MAKINDE RAISED THE SAME MATTER THAT I HAVE BEEN PLEADING WITH THE FGN TO EXECUTE SINCE 2023
SUBSIDISED PRODUCTION PRICING MODEL.THE SAME MODEL ADOPTED BY SAUDI ARABIA
THE NNPC LTD AND DANGOTE REFINERIES ARE CURRENTLY FLEECING NIGERIANS THROUGH THEIR OBNOXIOUS ROCKET AND FEATHER PMS PRICE ADJUSTMENTS MECHANISM..
NMDPRA IS TIED UP BY THE CRIMINAL INSERTIONS IN THE PIB , THUS, HINDERED TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP THIS FLEECING....
I WISH TO SHARE MY CREATIVE SOLUTIONS AGAIN👇
I wrote the article below on July 2, 2023. I MODIFIED IT AGAIN IN 2024 AND MARCH 9, 2026...
TODAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2026, I AM sharing it again for the benefits of those, who honestly desire to see Nigeria fixed ...PROVERB 25:5 IS THE LOT OF NIGERIA TODAY....
All over the sane world, what is subsidised is production and not consumption...
💢TRANSPARENTLY SUBSIDISING DOMESTIC CRUDE OIL REFINING AND WHITE PETROLEUM PRODUCTS PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA ...
✍️The greatest impediment to creativity, production and support of honest entrepreneurship in Nigeria is the massive public sector corruption....
✍️Nigeria has three refinery complex with combined refining capacity of 445,000 barrels a day that is dormant and refining nothing...
✍️The refineries are:
1. The Port Harcourt refinery comprises two units – the old plant 60,000bpd and the new plant (150,000bpd):
2. The Warri refinery has a capacity of 125,000bpd
3. The Kaduna Refinery with a 110,000 barrels per day refining capacity...
✍️Between 1993 to 2025, Nigeria has wasted over $17billion to $25billion on failed Turn Around Maintenance Programs on those three refinery complex with no success in sight .
✍️ These are brand new three refineries, that were built over a combined period, that spanned 24 years [ 1962 to 1986], between 3 Heads of State [ Gowon, Obasanjo and Babaginda]
✍️Kindly recollect that in March 2021, the Federal Executive Council approved $1.5 billion for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery. The Federal Government said the rehabilitation contract was awarded to Tecnimont SPA, an Italian company, and the refinery would be rehabilitated in about 44 months.
✍️In August 2021, FEC approved $1.48 billion for the rehabilitation of the Warri and Kaduna refineries. $897 million would be spent to repair the Warri refinery, while the Kaduna refinery will gulp $586 million.
✍️The contracts were awarded to Messers Saipem SPA and Saipem Contracting Limited and the refineries will be rehabilitated in three phases of 21, 23 and 33 months respectively.
✍️kindly note that Melee Kyari and co, just like I predicted in 2021/22,wasted and misappropriated the whole $3billion without the Refineries working
✍️In 2026. President Tinubu rather than take the creative and more pragmatic steps of unbundling and Restructuring the ownership, operation and management the NNPC, so as to enable it run like the PETROBRAS AND NLNG, has once again like Buhari, caved in to the wrong counsels of these guys , who leech on our common patrimony, by approving another NNPC waste jamboree of $2.5billion with the Chinese. Any revamp works with NNPC still under the existing public sector corruption chokehold will never work .
✍️To build a brand new 160,000 barrels per day [8million/tons per annum] capacity refineries w equipped with catalytic cracking, vis-breaking, and gasoline units to yield upto 55% of gasoline from a barrel of crude processed with cost about $6billion ...
✍️Kindly note that out of this projected N6billion cost outlay, the very high proportion of “offsites” (production of utilities, storage, receiving and shipping facilities), represents almost 50% of the cost of such refinery..[ these facilties already exist in the existing refineries in Warri and Portharcourt
✍️Without sentiments, the Kaduna Refinery which is located far away from heavy crude supplies and looking at modern refinery technology in place today is way obsolete, unprofitable and should be scrapped
Imo State had more polling units with no agents recorded on the result sheet than any other state in Nigeria.
In Imo, the gap is concentrated in a single LGA: Oru East recorded no agents in 100 polling units, and APC won 99% of them.
The one unit it lost is in Omuma, where APC recorded 0 votes, and AAC recorded 87. To me, that looks like AAC was mistaken for APC on the sheet.
Across Imo's other 3,109 reportable units, LP took 83.0% of the four-party vote to APC's 8.4%. In Oru East: APC 88.5%, LP 7.8%.
What happened in Oru East on 25 February 2023 is worth finding out.

Nigeria’s young people do not need a government that teaches them how to survive hardship. They need a government that gives them the opportunity to prosper.
The cost-of-living crisis has stripped millions of Nigerians of purchasing power, weakened small businesses and pushed too many young people farther away from jobs, capital and economic independence.
My commitment is to change that.
We will restore purchasing power, reduce the cost of living and deliberately expand opportunities for young Nigerians, including through a $100 billion financing programme for start-ups and entrepreneurs.
Our objective is simple: move young Nigerians from dependence to enterprise, from unemployment to productivity, and from palliatives to prosperity.
It was against this background that I was pleased to receive, this afternoon, a nationwide delegation of N-Power beneficiaries who came to declare their support for my presidential candidacy.
I thanked them for their confidence and reiterated that Nigeria cannot build its future by distributing poverty. We must build an economy that creates jobs, rewards enterprise and gives every young Nigerian a fair chance to succeed.
The choice before us is between continuing with an economy that shrinks opportunities and building one that restores hope, dignity and prosperity.
We will make Nigeria affordable again. —AA
On the question of subsidy, my position has not changed and will not change: I will restore it! A nation as blessed as ours has no business abandoning its citizens to hardship. Nigeria is rich enough to look after her own.
I believe the wealth of a nation is not measured by how much government collects, but by how much the money in the pockets of its people can buy.
I want wages to have value again. I want farmers to move produce without transport swallowing their profits. I want families to fill their baskets without emptying their pockets. I want businesses to produce, employ and prosper.
That is why I will restore targeted subsidy and put purchasing power back in the hands of Nigerians.
When fuel rises, transport rises. When transport rises, food rises. When food rises, families suffer.
I will break that wretched chain that has defined our national life in the nearly four years of Tinubu’s presidency.
I will support Nigerian production, reduce energy costs and restore purchasing power. I will not restore the import racket; I will restore relief.
I restated this commitment when I received the Osun State leadership of the ADC in Abuja on Tuesday.
I will make the naira in your pocket worth more, make daily living affordable again, and secure our people.
Economic security. Physical security. A better life for every Nigerian.
That is the Nigeria I intend to build. -AA
No one explains the impact of President Tinubu’s reforms on everyday Nigerians better than Tinubu himself. Just revisit his old campaign videos attacking Goodluck Jonathan. The arguments he made then about hardship, poverty and the cost of living are the same complaints many Nigerians are making today.
In a swift response to the unfortunate acts of political violence witnessed on the eve of the Osun State Governorship election, I conducted an on-the-spot assessment and inspection of the residences of several Accord leaders whose homes were attacked and heavily vandalized.
The inspection covered affected residences across Ikire and Ikoyi, including the homes of Hon. Ambali Taye Kondo in Ikoyi, Hon. Owodunni Abiodun (Wocco), and Hon. Taofeeq Ajagun (Ultimate) in Ikoyi. I also visited the residence of Akinola Paul (Halleluyah) at Oke Awo, Ikire; the residence of Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Adeyemo; Alhaji Lateef at Moro, Ikire; and Hon. Nureni Owoade in the Amukuku area of Ikire.
During the visit, I personally assessed the extent of the damage and expressed my heartfelt sympathy to the affected leaders, their families, and supporters. I strongly condemned the attacks as unwarranted, cowardly, and completely unacceptable in a democratic society.
Political differences should never be allowed to degenerate into violence, destruction, intimidation, or attacks on the homes and properties of fellow citizens. Democracy is built on tolerance, dialogue, respect for differing opinions, and the freedom of every citizen to support the political party or candidate of their choice.
I commended the affected leaders for their doggedness, courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to their political convictions, despite the intimidation and destruction they have endured. I assured them that their sacrifices, courage, and contributions to the peace and development of their communities will not be in vain.
I am deeply grateful to the affected leaders and community members for their warm reception and for appreciating my presence at this difficult moment. Their words of encouragement further strengthened my resolve to continue standing with our people, particularly when they face difficult and challenging circumstances.
The affected leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to peace, assuring me that they would remain calm, law-abiding, and steadfast in their political beliefs. Their courage in the face of provocation is commendable and worthy of recognition.
I also assured the victims, affected leaders, and residents that appropriate security and administrative channels will continue to be engaged to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice. Nobody should be above the law, and every citizen deserves protection regardless of political affiliation.
I therefore appeal to all Accord members, supporters, and residents across the affected local government areas to remain calm, peaceful, resilient, and law-abiding. I specifically urge everyone to reject any temptation to retaliate. Violence will only deepen the pain and create further division among our people.
As leaders, we must rise above provocation and continue to defend democracy through lawful and peaceful means. Violence has no place in a free and democratic society.
I call on the relevant security and law-enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial, and speedy investigation into these attacks and ensure that those responsible face the full weight of the law.
Our people deserve peace. Our communities deserve security. And our democracy must be protected.
I remain committed to standing with our people and working for peace, justice, fairness, and the continued progress of Osun State.
