6.Being in a position to give, no matter how small, is a huge Divine blessing and at the same time, a fantastic opportunity to glorify God and share the gospel or at least pray with the person, as the Spirit leads.

4.The truth is that many of us may be similar in our relationship with God, the ULTIMATE GIVER. We focus on our needs and can be aggressive in asking. Most times we may not show appreciation or gratitude for His unending, unlimited or provision.

2.We all ask others for help in one form or the other. None of us will like to be shabbily treated by anyone, regardless of the position the person occupies. Let the ‘Golden rule’ kick in, always

1.Every Giver has a choice. A positive influencing thought is to give what you can afford at the point of request or truthfully promise to give later, or politely decline or refer the person in need to a possible point of assistance but importantly, pray for or with the person.

Given the fact that many people are facing financial challenges, it is understandable that would-be givers may start getting reluctant, impatient or irritated when asked for financial assistance. But a slight mindset shift may help minimise the adverse emotional impact……
