Dear Pilgrim,
It is a curious thing to watch a crowd assemble, not out of a shared love for truth, but out of a shared target. For months, those who harbour an axe to grind against “a clan” have waited in the shadows.
Now, at the slightest opening, they have jumped on the bandwagon, rejoicing in an occasion to malign, discredit, and accuse. Even those whose doctrinal diseases, immoral and questionable lives have felt the whip the Truth, driving them out of the temple have jumped on the unfortunate train. But as the scripture reminds us, a house built on malice cannot stand; there is no honour among thieves.
The hypocrisy is glaring. Despite glaring evidence that the focus has always been corrupted doctrine, immorality and malpractices within the church, those who once bore false witness and criticized “The man from Warri” for addressing trending matters and speaking on the state of the Church have now made another preacher their topic of conversation. Everyone suddenly has an opinion; everyone has become a commentator. Yet, despite their desperate attempts to dig into history and pin a damning matter on the voice of one, they find no hidden sin, no moral failure, and no compromised altar.
So, in their desperation, they weaponize the frailties of human memory. They began by viciously attacking his statement on Nigeria as a nation of revival. When it failed, they moved to picking apart the fine details of his personal spiritual encounters, trying desperately to label him as extreme or a liar. Scripture and human experience both testify that when a witness recounts a profound encounter over many years, minor details or peripheral aspects may be remembered differently without invalidating the core event. David’s recollections of God’s deliverances were defined by the weight of the glory, not by an exact transcript of secondary details. Forgetfulness of minor specifics over time is a human reality; it is not a testament to deceit.
There is no place where the voice of one has presented his encounters as doctrine, but as pieces of the puzzle to explain the organic side of our salvation and help the ardent seeker through the maze of spiritual understanding.
However, the digging continues! They say “preach Christ and not men or self” but hypocritically spend sermons and pages of human writing doing the very opposite.
Yet, the posture of men like “the man from Warri” remains non-negotiable. Contending for the faith and crying out against doctrinal corruption, spiritual lawlessness, and compromise in the Church is not a popular job, but it is a necessary one. When the watchman blows the trumpet, he is rarely loved by the city, but his silence would be betrayal.
If this was meant to send out a warning or threat of “retribution” it has failed woefully. We say like Paul said to Agabus “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus." No retreat, no surrender. For this cause were we born!
No matter how deep the hands of Esau, hidden behind the voice of Jacob dig, they cannot undermine a vessel that God Himself has upheld. The voice crying in the wilderness cannot be silenced by bad-faith commentary.
We will continue to stand, unashamedly pointing the Church back to the ancient paths, because our allegiance is to the Truth and not the approval of the crowd.
May they that read understand!
NIGERIA, WE MUST RECOVER THE BOOKS.
A nation can have a word hanging over it and still raise a generation that knows nothing about that word. The fathers may have seen it, prayed it, but if they do not transmit the burden, their sons will inherit the land without inheriting the understanding required to serve its destiny.
This is one of my concerns about Nigeria. Many young Christians know the wounds of this nation. They know the corruption, insecurity, failed leadership and broken promises. They can explain everything that is wrong with Nigeria, but very few can tell you what GOD revealed to our fathers concerning this land.
They inherited the pain, but the burden was not transferred. Our fathers did not remain upon the altar because Nigeria was working. They prayed because they had been apprehended by something in the heart of GOD concerning this territory. They saw beyond the disorder of their day and believed that Nigeria had an allocation in the purposes of GOD that her present condition could not cancel.
Some of those men Prayed For Nigeria until Praying Forb Nigeria became part of their life. They spoke of a future they might never live to see. They wrote books, preached messages, preserved journals and left recordings because they understood that what GOD was saying was larger than their lifetime.
Those materials must be recovered. Daniel said, “I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet.”
Daniel was in Babylon, living inside the consequences of his nation’s rebellion, but the books opened his eyes to something beyond captivity. The ruins around him were real, but they were not the whole counsel of GOD concerning Jerusalem.
He understood by books that a word was still standing over his nation. Then Daniel said, “And I set my face unto the Lord GOD, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.”
This is where the burden begins. Daniel understood by books, and what he understood gave him posture before GOD. The prophecy did not become a reason for celebration without seeing the responsibility Required to further the course of GOD. It became a summons to fasting, repentance and intercession.
He did not say, “Since GOD has spoken, there is nothing for us to do.” He set his face before the LORD because he understood that when GOD reveals HIS intention to a generation, that revelation places a demand upon the generation that receives it.
Prophetic understanding must produce spiritual responsibility. It must enter our prayers, govern our choices and show us the kind of vessels GOD must raise for HIS counsel to find expression. If all prophecy does is make us excited about what Nigeria will become, then we have not yet come into the burden of the word.
This is why we must return to the books. What did our fathers hear concerning Nigeria? What made them believe this nation had an assignment in the purposes of GOD? What did they see that kept them praying when nothing around them agreed with what they were saying?
Let the fathers who are still with us speak while they can still explain what they saw. Let those who have the old recordings, manuscripts, journals and prophetic records bring them forth. Let the encounters be documented, the witnesses preserved and the burden deliberately transferred.
We cannot ask a generation to contend for a future we have never shown them. Of course, every prophetic word must be judged. Our fathers are not Scripture, and honour does not remove the responsibility to test what was spoken. Whatever came from men must bow before the written Word of GOD.
There is a difference between testing a word and mocking every possibility that GOD still has an intention for Nigeria. There is a difference between rejecting a false prophecy and becoming so damaged by disappointment that every word of hope sounds foolish. Some people are laughing because they are wounded.
Dear Pilgrim,
Are you struggling to keep your mind pure in a sexually charged world?
Here are keys to desxualize your mind.
By the help of the Holy Spirit, you are victorious!
@BrotherPossible The question we should ask this woman is how she arrived at a scene of judgement before death. I thought the Bible said judgement is after death? So who decided their eternity before their death?
At least let's start the discussion from there.
