My attempt at making a map for areas covered within certain distance from metro stations of Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 of Pune metro. I have considered upto 1 km for walking and upto 5 km by driving/riding bike/car/bus.
@KesariDhwaj Considering inc network of expressways & easy access to powerful cars, our driving test should hv risk education as optional test & later made compulsory. We severely underestimate stopping dist of our cars. It will give an idea of emergency maneuvers.

@LoverWdp4d@AmeyKulkarni_21 That would have been a game changer for the industries(and this freeing up slots for passenger trains). I think land acquisition was the issue for cancellation?
@NBaidmehta@AmeyKulkarni_21@cbdhage Its not just a boost for Pune but whole western MH. Only option was to reach Mumbai. There is a flourishing export business of orchards and floriculture where shelf life is very important. Air freight is a major factor.
@yashodhanxyz If you look at the rivers like another line, they connect many major points across the city thanks to their serpentine nature. Instead of them dividing the city they become the connecting link.
@public_pulseIN They do have random checks. But people should have some common sense thinking instead of trying to exploit every rule as some sort of cheat code. Policing every small things comtinously is such a waste of resource.

Img 1 & 2 - Increase in crowd on a rainy day
Img 3 & 4 - Mostly everyone travels till last station. Which does show the need for expansion of metro in PCMC area. Pimpri-Nigdi extn is being built at rapid pace
@Niisshhaanntt@PunishedKebbin For a country with huge population the person capita is expected to be low. But if you consider just cities(urban areas) they might be having high number.
For example, number of vehicles in Pune is almost equal to the population
@cvkrishnan Are the tech salaries inflated or core sector salaries stagnant? 95% of my mechanical engg batchmates hv switched to IT/SW eventually. Most of the were quite talented. Out of rest 5% majority are in Germany.
Will this situation ever change? Entrepreneurship seems to be only way
I did a redo of this map-incl of all ph 1 extn stations. Made it more legible to read small details by expt with colors.
at the end of ph 1 extn, only N, E, SE, some part of SW & NW will be out of coverage which are to be covered by ph 2 proposed routes.
