It’s a pleasure to announce our 21-22 Teacher of the Year! Mr. Huerta is an exemplary educator, who takes pride in building relationships with students and ensures his students have the mathematical skills needed to be successful🎊 @OmarTeaches
A win today: a student was having trouble mentally calculating 72/2 and 36/2. Knowing he's a skateboarder, I asked him what's half of 720? What's half of 360? His answers were automatic.
Many arguments get heated not because our opinions clash, but because we fail to show that we care.
In conflict, the most important step isn't to defend your position. It's to reinforce your relationship.
It's easier to accept that you're not like-minded if you're like-hearted.
Loyalty doesn't require conformity. If consensus is wrong, you have an obligation to disagree.
Weak leaders demand deference. Strong leaders welcome dissent.
Being a team player is not about sacrificing your values for a group. It’s about acting in service of the greater good.
Grit? What is it? I believe it’s driven by love. Inspired by vision and purpose. Fueled by optimism and belief. Powered by faith and hope. Revived by resilience. Kept alive by stubbornness. And if we’re honest includes some fear of failure and desire to prove oneself.
If you want to see the poor remain poor, generation after generation, just keep the standards low in their schools and make excuses for their academic shortcomings and personal misbehavior. But please don't congratulate yourself on your compassion.
STAAR got lucky this time around because these kids were UNSTOPPABLE! 🤩 Whether in-school or online learning, test or no test, they still gave it their all until the very end. #LeadersInTheMaking
Happy National Principals’ Day to @Zajan23. You have led us with so much joy and kindness. Often, I wish I could turn back time and experience the Cornelius you have given us. We could not ask for more. Thank you for being the fearless leader every kid deserves! 📚🎉
