Trojan Horse
I've been an independent small scale farmer for 20+ years. I live and breath food sovereignty. Here is a podcast with one of Canada's Oligarchs offering his solutions to fixing what ails Canada. Frank talks a great talk and presents many important principles. However, I smell a Trojan horse embedded within his solutions.

For instance, mandating "no child should go to school hungary and no child should leave school hungary" sounds great, it feeds our empathetic spirit. However, it is also an intrusion into parental responsibility. I believe it is better to stop telling parents that their negligence is socially acceptable and that the taxpayers should subsidize their negligence. A true sovereign minded state should be encouraging and enabling parents to be better parents, not setting the stage for the state to replace them.

In addition, the mandate of organic food for tax payer funded food programs sounds great. I live and breath organic. However, the Trojan horse here is that "organic" is a regulated institutional brand that forces farmers to grow according to institutional standards. As an organic minded poultry farmer, I can say with 100% certainty that certified organic chicken is unhealthy, immoral, and as such, is consumer fraud. Furthermore, the proposed subsidies re-inforces dependency on growing food the way the bureaucrats demand. Farmers that maintain their sovereignty by rejecting bureaucratic compliance find themselves at an economic and regulatory disadvantage.

In both cases, the solutions here are nothing more than weaponized empathy being used to further destroy sovereign parenting and sovereign food production.
