On the sidelines of "Governing at the Speed of AI" at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, I had a tête-à-tête with H.E. Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, former President of Colombia and Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
We talked about international cooperation on the governance of artificial intelligence and why countries that use these technologies need to be part of preparedness arrangements from the start.

Today, António Guterres gave his last speech at #UNGA as Secretary General … During his tenure, Israel erased Gaza, Saudi Arabia embargoed Qatar & bombed Yemen into a sh*thole, Sudan/Haiti/DRCongo went to abyss … There was no single major conflict he resolved … He was an impotent eunuch to BigPowers! Simply put, Guterres is the worst UN SG in History … His greatest failure was watching Gaza genocide without the courage to call out Israel for the genocide! He was weak & spineless! GOOD RIDDANCE!

Today I had a very interesting conversation with a certain mzee. 😂
Every Thursday, he goes to Rumuruti Livestock Market.
He buys 30 cows, each at an average price of KSh 75,000. After transport and other logistical costs, each cow costs him roughly KSh 80,000.
Each cow has an average dead weight of about 130kg.
He runs 10 butcheries, and each butchery sells approximately 3 cows per week.
He sells beef at around KSh 750 per kg.
So, one cow gives him:
130kg × KSh 750 = KSh 97,500
Then you add the head, matumbo and other parts, and he says he makes about KSh 105,000 per cow.
If the total cost is KSh 80,000, that gives him approximately KSh 25,000 profit per cow.
With 30 cows a week:
30 × KSh 25,000 = KSh 750,000 profit per week.
That’s roughly KSh 3 million in four weeks. 😳

@KhalifKairo Work with a rate of Kes 60,000 per sqm for the house. If you assume 600 sqm, then sum this up with the costs of other outbuildings, ancillary components and other preliminary costs e.g design and approvals, you will be North of Kes 40 million.
Morara Kebaso has rejected claims by some women that his wife, Mercy, “built” him, saying he does not accept the idea that a woman should never support or help build a man.
He said that after he met Mercy, he chose to put up a new house for her parents before building one for his own. He personally oversaw the construction, sourced fundis and materials, and furnished the home.
He challenged his critics to acknowledge the support he has given his wife and her family, adding that the business they are now backing was also started with money whose source should be recognized.
“Wapi ile heshima kidogo mmebakisha ya wanaume kama mimi?” Morara asked. He said he will now produce evidence to back his claims and wants every allegation against him brought forward so he can answer them once and for all.
